I was watching Bill Maher today and he and Richard Dawkins were taking the left to task for their stance on immigration. When someone like Bill Maher is agreeing with Republicans on immigration, I think something has changed.

What should America's immigration policy be going forward?

I agree with you; however, there are only two sides to the argument and anyone who thinks outside the box is persona non grata.

For example:

The right does not have the constitutional authority to keep other Americans from inviting people into the United States. Neither should every person who comes here be forced into becoming a citizen. And that is where the right stands.

The left will destroy America if you allow it. The right has deluded itself into believing they have the winning formula with this temporary control over Congress and the White House. They are going to be in for a rude awakening. So you should consider some reality here. The right is using a strategy that is analogous to the wrestler who allows his opponent to get behind him. It is a recipe for defeat. Wrestlers think several moves ahead. Having tried to introduce that strategy into the right wing, I realize that none of them get it.

Time for another example:

Let us suppose you could win this fight. You have a major mass deportation, leaving many jobs empty and millions of homes and apartments empty. The price of homes would drop while property taxes would be raised (Uncle Scam won't like laying off bureaucrats.)

Then all these parents take their American born children with them. After a few years, those children get to be 14, 15 and older and want to come back home. So, they show up at the border with their National ID Cards, Socialist Surveillance Numbers and you can't keep them out. They're Americans. For all you know, once they become of age, Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico may decide to deport the American born. They're under no obligation to keep them.

So, here they come... by the millions. They don't have a job, no education, no skills, no money, no family support system (you deported the family), and no chance of being self sufficient. The right has NO plan for this contingency.

The more laughable part of the right's strategy is they would deport those here without papers, leaving the family, and that is somehow a smart thing to do. So, you take out the breadwinner and gain three children and an American parent. Those four people end up on welfare and other forms of public assistance. Why do you insist on incurring that expense?

Finally, is the "solution" that was invented by those who use Hegelian Dialectics. Trump leaves a full third of those here and makes citizens out of them. They're going to become voters. So, why does the right demand to attach citizenship to them?

Anybody with an IQ the same size as their shoe size or bigger should be able to understand that improper entry, while illegal, is little more than the federal equivalent of making an improper U Turn. At the end of the day, once you have a full third of those without papers being forced to become citizens, they will ultimately petition the United States Supreme Court and that Court WILL rule that separating families is cruel and inhumane as per the Eighth Amendment.

This isn't rocket science and the best solutions will not cost you TRILLIONS of dollars; do not require walls nor ninja clad federal mercenaries to man that wall; do not require mass deportations. Most of all the real solutions will not require you to forfeit any more Liberties or Freedoms.

The ramifications of the wall extend beyond the narrow issue of immigration. But, I don't know how to over-come the objections of people with no love of Liberty and tunnel vision.

Let me explain what happens here:

You build a wall and think you're keeping out people you call "illegals." You give a third of them citizenship and let them stay. You just created 1.8 MILLION Democrats as NOBODY will vote for a candidate who believes in separating families.

Ultimately the United States Supreme Court weighs in and finds your objectives to be cruel and inhumane. BTW, I'm not guessing on this. Look at what the United States Supreme Court did just this week relative to this issue.

ALL it's going to take is a group of affected Americans with foreign relatives to take this to court. Either way, the door swings open and your arguments are forever moot... and you will have wasted umpteen years of your life for NOTHING.

As of 2010 census the USA Population was 310 million not counting illegals in the USA . I'm not meaning to judge you, but don't you think that leaving this for the next generation is a bit selfish?

I'd like the next generation to be able to enjoy the Freedoms and Liberties I had. Unfortunately, my generation didn't do much to advance the cause. Through apathy, ignorance and neglect, we are responsible for what happened.

I love reading stories about how America came to be. I've always been impressed by the courage, sacrifice, hard work, and even people giving up their lives for their posterity (you and I) and we really did enjoy the blessings of Liberty.

I think it is incumbent upon us to leave this country in good enough shape so that the next generation can enjoy the Liberties and Freedoms our predecessors left for us.

I sometimes think about all the soldiers who have given their lives - and many have come home wounded (physically and emotionally) so that you and I could be free. That debt of gratitude cannot be paid by allowing our country to be taken over by people who hate, loathe and despise the principles upon which America was founded on.

Neither can we destroy America with strategies that will leave America in the hands of tyrants, oppressors, and those who would destroy everything our predecessors sacrificed to establish. We can do more than submit to slavery and bad political strategies.

I owe so much to those who came before me and I cannot pay my part of the debt by throwing in the towel and letting this country go to waste. But, that's just me.

Again I agree with your frustrations; I don't want to judge you. I just had to let you know what my feelings were.

If we examine the past, my generation and yours (not a lot of years separate us) could have done more. At your age, I'm sure you heard a lot about segregation then forced busing, affirmative action, racial quotas, preferential hiring schemes, and then handing over the country to the third world just to be in vogue with diversity.

We have forced people to become citizens, given refuge and then permanent status to every race, color, creed, religion, nationality, sexual persuasion, political persuasion, and belief that can be categorized without thinking about the posterity of our country.

If you look at what happened to Rob Porter, Judge Roy Moore, etc., etc. it looks to me like the media and the left are doing their dead level best to wage a war of subtle genocide against the people with the most invested in our Republic.

That makes it even more important that every strategy be looked at and scrutinized carefully.
