On a serious note, I was definitely in favor of the original, stated version of Obama's health care plan, where it was both voluntary and contributory. This mess now is pretty mucked up in my opinion. It won't directly affect my family and I because we already have health care coverage from a large group policy.
While many people may be in favor of a "universal health care" type of policy, I don't think people like it when it's mandatory and contains penalties when you don't buy it. I was hoping the the SCOTUS would vote against it, so they could start all over and have a more sensible plan for health coverage and health care, that could be affordable and help the people who ca't afford health insurance now.

You will have what is called a 'Federal violation' added to your permanent record.

Do you realize that for many things, like applying for the purchase of a gun, that with the 'Federal Violation' on your record, you will be denied the purchase of a gun? After all, it is considered a crime now.

Imagine all the things that require a background check before you can have it? Failure to comply will restrict your 2nd Amendment rights.

I go to Canada quite often and know a lot of folks there. It is funny, in all the years I have been going there I have yet to meet a single one of these people who think their system sucks. It's always someone somebody knows.

I did have one experience there. A group of us were there diving and one of the group got bent. Actually passed out during dinner. We called an ambulance and off to the ER we went. He got right in at the ER, was immediately seen by the doctor, received several hours of treatment before they released him. While this is going on, the rest of the group was trying to figure out how much money we had because the guy was not covered under the Canadian system. We had to pay up front. We knew in the US we were looking at a $2,000 easy. When the bill came, it was less than $300, including the ambulance ride.

Yep. What a horror story that was.

I cant believe you spent all that time typing this. You could've just went with...... I know a guy who went to the hospital in Canada and everything turned out OK.
Even in Russsian Roulette you have a one and six chance.

I don't think you know what an exchange is.

Sure I do -- I lived in California when the state took over the Earthquake insurance biz. Uninsured jumped from 30% to 60%.. I dropped mine (WAAAY too expensive and poorly covered) and moved to Tenn..

Which at the time had a STATE insurance exchange for health.. It was dropped in less than 6 years for bloated pricing, fraud and the lack of participation by the insurance companies.
