If Trump meeting is illegal then Clinton dossier is as well

Collusion isn't a crime. If it were, Clinton and Obama would be in prison right now. They clearly paid foreigners to influence our Election. It's why Mueller keeps moving the goal posts and trying to get Trump on anything. It's a very costly Witch Hunt. Time to wrap it up.

If Trump meeting is illegal, then Clinton dossier is criminal too

How soon you leftists forget the Clinton Criminal Family actually PAID a British Spy who PAID RUSSIA for fake dirt on Trump...what Trump Jr SUPPOSEDLY talked about the Clinton Crime Family actually DID.
Not even close. There is a difference between hiring a professional to do research and and accepting an invitation from an enemy government who prefers one candidate over the other. The likelyhood of undue influence is extremely high in the second case.

Also remember that Steele, when he discovered just how damning the evidence was, went to the FBI with it while tRump lied about it repeatedly instead of reporting it as they should have.

There is no equivalency at all.
Who accepted an invitation from an enemy government? A Russian music industry individual approached the Trump camp and suggested he could put them together with someone who had dirt on the Hildebeast, who turned out to be the babe Russian attorney, and no such dirt was forthcoming in the meeting. If it had been however the Trump camp could have used it and not broken any law.

Inconvenient truths are a bitch sometimes, huh?
To be fair, we really don't know what happened at the meeting, as Trump's tale keeps changing. Which may be a problem. But meeting with Russians is not illegal, or shouldn't be.

Faust didn't get in trouble for just meeting Mephistopheles (-: And there's nothing illegal in asking a young lady if she'd like to make $100 the "hard way"

Dumb ass they PAID a spy FOREIGN AT THAT who used those funds to PAY Russian Spies for FAKE evidence against Trump,THEN the FBI paid this FOREIGN SPY to do the same thing!

An ex-foreign spy who had worked with and alongside US spies in the past.
And? Doesn't make it LEGAL nor Moral or Ethical to pay a foreign spy who paid more foreign spies including ones from countries you leftists are whining meddled in the election to get dirt on your opponent.

The question here is that we don't really know what's going on.

Digging up dirt on your opponents isn't illegal.

But interference from foreign governments is.

So, if you go ask some Brit for information. Then it's okay.

If you go ask the Russian government for stuff, then that's entirely different.

Well, I think anyone can ask anyone what they know. Or should be able to. That's the point of Turley's piece linked to the OP

But Turley didn't address whether its ok to ask for illegally obtained information and use it, or whether to agree to change US policy to get something. Not that its proven Trump did any of that.

Nothing has been proven. What has been proven is that Trump's story changes when they find out the original story is false. Which makes people suspect he's hiding something.

If he's hiding it, it's probably illegal.

Basically they are trying to get a book on Trump While Hillary has already frauded one.

What is wrong with you people? Do you not realise what you are saying? Or do you just not care?

But again, back to Turley's piece and the OP. Trump has a free speech right, and under the current Scotus his campaign itself might. So he has a right to talk - exchange information - with Russian, just as Hillary had to do so with Fusion GPS, that hired Steel. No one - besides the partisan Trumpbots who'd rather give a bj than accept any fact that might detract from their Dear Leader - even suggests that Hillary did anything wrong in hiring an investigating firm. Trump himself says "I only did that."

Maybe the meeting was just the Russian saying "I'm only a lawyer lobbyist and not Putin's cutout, and I've got X on Hillary, and if you want it you have to get rid of the Maginsky Act." And the boychinkins said "thanks but no thanks." There's nothing illegal there.

But we really don't know, and according to Ghouliani, there were more meetings. Though Ghouliani has not been seem much since floating that turd in the pool

If they weren't pretty sure it was illegal why did they go through all these twistings and turning to try to hide it?

That's a question. But assuming things is dangerous. And while Manafort is dirty with the Russians, I'd be surprised if he was ignorant of what was legal and not legal. And, as the OP noted, it's hard to not conclude the Trumps themselves are anything but incompetent.

I’ve read plenty about the meeting and thus I’m trying to educate myself as to your allegation, “...and accepting an invitation from an enemy government...”. Who in the Trump administration received your alleged invitation from what enemy government person? Someone in the enemy government had to have extended the invite for an invitation to have taken place. That or they’ve got some mental telepathy thing going I guess. Anyway, please do don your education cap for the class.

Clinton's campaign paid Fusion GPS for legal opposition research which was actually begun by a Republican opponent of Trump's. Fusion GPS reached out to a reliable source they had used plenty of times in the past, and he contacted people he knew in Moscow to research Trump's business dealings there.
There was nothing screwball or illegal about any of that. Much of the information in the dossier has been verified and Fusion GPS has been dragged through the mud for daring to do research on Trump. How DARE they?

On the other hand, Trump's campaign eagerly attended a meeting clearly initiated by the Russian government to give the campaign dirt on Hillary Clinton. This is clearly and inarguably against the law. Trump admits they did it.

These two things are not at all the same.

Haven't you read tRump Jr's emails?

"This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government's support for Mr Trump"

Four explosive lines in Trump Jr emails

Scurrying around like deranged chickens pecking at the dirt trying to get some crumb on Trump while Hillary is standing there with a full feeder in her hands
