They did that in 2008 and nothing happened. There was a 4 month cease fire, not a single rocket was shot at Israel. But the Israeli's did not reciprocate. No restrictions were lifted; the blockade was not lifted; nothing. What did happen, was after 4 months, the IDF launched a commando raid into Gaza to kill some members of Hamas. Then the rocket attacks resumed.
