I will leave France later where to go ?

Bonjour, In 15 years, I will go settle elsewhere and I do not want to stay in France or in Europe.
Perhaps England, but I want to live where it is good to live, the climate, the government service, I do not want the government to be against its people.
There are countries I love in Europe Austria, but I do not speak the language and in the United States I really like Vermont after what I saw on TV.

You have an opinion?

Switzerland. I hear the hills are alive with the sound of music there. And the nuns don't have a thing about f'ing with you're car if your a mook, know what I mean sister.

mook ? what does it mean ? :dunno:

And also the place where we live it must not have too much crime here the police is rather lax and in France we do not carry weapons me in the USA I will have to be armed too for defending myself ?

My parents never own one and I never own one and probably will never own one for the rest of my life.

Why, then ? you have this chance to be armed me that's what I think because you have a thug who wants to burglar as an example and well you can defend yourself

Contrary to what the gun nuts on here tell you, no, generally you don't really need a gun for self defense, but you can get one if you want.

Me? I haven't fired a gun since I retired from the military, and have yet to see a need to get one. Most places in the USA are fairly safe, even if some of the fear mongers on here would have you believe otherwise.

And, the police presence here in American cities is much more than what you have in France. I've been to places like San Remo, Nice, and Cannes.
It's rather what we see on TV that may be wrong and you're right for the police here it's so bad the police are not as powerful as you

Vancouver BC, simply the best of what the NW has to offer without all the crap, or if you wish warmer climate Belize.
I did hear that Vancouver it is a very nice place

You will never really know until you spend a good bit of time living in the new place. You have 15 years maybe take some long trips and really get a 'feel' for what the new country is like. I grew up in the cold North East and never imagined I would live in Arizona but now I can't imagine moving back to the cold.
You are right you have to stay in a place for a long time to get used to between Lyon and Normandy it's the opposite. in Lyon people are Stressed and in Normandy they are easy going

The rainfall at all the time can become tiresome, the snow does not bother at all here in France in my region the winter is gray without snow and the summer it is hot and overwhelming, we also have a house in Normandy but the winter it's very cold for the older days, and the service in France has become really degrading. and everything costs more and more expensive.
th

So what kind of climate do you prefer? One where there's a change of seasons, with the definite possibility of snow, or one where it just becomes cooler with the possibility of rain? If the former how much snow do you want? If the latter do you want freezing rain or a cool rain? Mountains, hills, prairie, desert, grassy knolls, etc,..???

:)

I think that like like many of you I prefer the spring, I do not like the big hot crushing, I like the rain but not all the time. I love the snow but again it is not necessary that it overflows, I like places where there are many Christmas decorations. I like the places maintained, and yes the beaches as in Normandy, where you can also breathe.
The proper state in America.

Possibly Idaho or Mississippi.
Thank you .

Ummm..............Dalia...................you may wish to reconsider Idaho and Mississippi.

Why? Simple..................Mississippi is full of racists and Idaho is full of white supremacists. If you are comfortable around white bigots and hatred, well...........there ya go.

I travel to Montpellier, France regularly before I retired. My kids are now running the day to day operations so they do some of these travelings. Actually we rented a 2 room condo last 20 years just for my US employees instead staying in a hotel.

I buy some of my consumables ( reagents & blood chemistry ) in Montpellier from company called Horiba ABX. It’s a very big reagent manufacturer company in France. They have a very huge finished goods warehouse in Lyon. Big means you can park 20 of 747 plane inside that warehouse.

I attempted to make these reagents and blood chemistry here in US but it will cost me 3x the difference from making to buying.

Not all places are like that here in California. In Palm Springs I rarely lock the front door.
But I was mugged in Atlantic City close to casino parking lots.
Even if I have a gun in my waste with the safety ready to fire. There is no way I can defend myself because I felt the knife already on my left side.

I was also mugged in Beijing..... the same thing. There is no way I can defend myself with a gun.

In my area, it is the region of the Templar pros if I can say it and be for the Templars that means everything is not supremacists but it is well anchored and it is the story that is present in the memorie.

You know, back in the summer of '94, I rode a bicycle from Jacksonville FL to Newport RI, and Atlantic City was one of the places I went through. I kept following the road north, not knowing that it was on an island, and ended up just a block away from the strip. VERY unfriendly place, there were groups of teens on street corners looking at me on my bike like a lion looks at a gazelle. Well, I came across a city bus, and asked him how I got back to the mainland. He told me to go back the way I came for about 1/2 a mile, and then take a right at the first bridge.

He also told me not to stop for anything unless I absolutely had to, because I was in a really sketchy area, and to run stop signs and lights if I thought it was safe.

And this conversation took place at around 3:00 pm while the sun was still up and people were still on the streets.

If you're a productive, law-abiding French citizen who detests Pisslam as much as we yanks do, you're certainly welcome to set up a new life in L'Etat Unis. First-World Western immigrants have a lot more to offer America than our 3rd world illegal garbage. And you have good command of the English language.

You've done well, and Lyon is famous for everything related to medicine, why is it so expensive in the United States

Despite with all the negativity of California. If you look at 15 of the best places to live 4 of them are from Ca.

You can also check here the worst state to live in US. California is not in that list.

If coming from a Communist country - France isn't quite that yet but they're working on it - you'd feel very much at home in Vermont OR Oregon. Consider the climateS (both political and weatherwise) according to how much you feel you can handle. Coastal Oregon might, as regards weather, be the more comfortable of the two. Politically? I'd think Vermont might be closer to French socialism whereas Oregon is more "authoritian aging hippie" - not an easy thing to define unless one has had a colony of them as neighbors.

Why is medicine so expensive here? Short answer............Big Pharma and lobbyists.

Interesting thing about Vermont: it's a French name, Vert Montaigne, for "green mountain."
