See, in Texas, business feels the public has no right to know. They can build anything anywhere. Even an exploding factory between three schools. It's OK. It's business. They're just chemicals.

How do you think these floods will affect those dangerous types of businesses. Guess we'll find out. After all, a lack of regulations saves money and helps business. Republicans told us so.

Wow, that was fast:

Houston flood: Chemicals released from Arkema plant - BBC News

Residents living within a 1.5-mile (2.4km) radius of the plant were evacuated after the company warned there was a risk of explosions and fire.

Flooded chemical plant explodes; firm will let fire 'burn itself out'

Arkema Group, one of the world's largest chemical companies, had warned Wednesday that the plant would catch fire and explode at some point — adding that there was nothing to stop it.

Remember, in Texas, you can build anything anywhere you want and you don't need to tell anyone. Who needs those pesky regulations? That's what the GOP keeps telling us.

So there's no zoning in Texas? Is that your claim, R-Derp? You get stupider by the day!

He's as deranged as any Batman villain. King Obama kept him somewhat sane, but now - hes not just off his meds, there are no meds for this

There's no "gray" in R-Derp World...if you're a State run by conservatives...YOU'RE EVIL! If you're State run by liberals...YOU'RE AN OASIS OF GOODNESS!

Wow, dum dum figured it out. And people have been saying you're stupid.

The weirdest images to come from Houston's lack of zoning laws

This is the blessing and curse of Houston's lack of zoning laws. Often, businesses and houses coexist on the same street.

Voters have elected to reject any efforts to pass zoning laws in Houston three different times in the past century. Today, Houston is the largest city in the country with no regulation.

I don't think it is possible for derpy to get any stupider. He's reached the bottom of the barrel. The plant lost all power due to the flooding. It also lost the backup generators that would have kept the cooling systems going, thus the explosion was inevitable. The plant owners and managers warned everyone in a timely fashion so that the danger was eliminated to just the plant itself.

derpy is so wrapped around his particular axle that no matter what happens naturally it's all because the government wasn't able to regulate it. Had derpy lived under Soviet rule and been sent to the gulag, he would be trying to explain how they could be run better so as to kill more people. He is a statist through and through.

Technically, you are right about Houston's lack of zoning laws. Technically...........Forget What You’ve Heard, Houston Really Does Have Zoning (Sort Of)

Here are the actual Codes that govern land use. derpy's just pissed that they don't regulate how many grooves must be cut into your driveway to comply with his wet dream of an encyclopedia of rules and regs.

It's the whole state. In Texas, they believe in filth first. Everyone knows that.

Texas is Number 1

  • #1 in the Emission of Ozone Causing Air Pollution Chemicals
  • #1 in Toxic Chemical releases into the Air
  • #1 in use of Deep Well Injectors as method of Waste Disposal
  • #1 in counties listed in top 20 of Emitting Cancer Causing Chemicals
  • #1 in Total Number of Hazardous Waste Incinerators
  • #1 in Environmental Justice Title 6 complaints
  • #1 in production of Cancer causing Benzene & Vinyl Chloride
  • #1 Largest Sludge Dump in Country

And even there the regulations are in place. You just want the corporations to ship all of those manufacturing jobs overseas to poison the brown people who live there that you seem to hate so much. Why do you hate brown people derpy? What did they ever do to you?

I think you guys all go to the same "dumb" class. What else could it be?

Zoning keeps business away from homes to protect people. Except where Republicans live. They don't care what it does. Not even if it hurts their children. They don't care.

Texas Among Nation's Worst Water Polluters

It’s Different In Texas

As federal investigators sift through the rubble at the West Fertilizer Company plant seeking clues about the April 17 blast that killed at least 14 people and injured roughly 200 others, some here argue that Texas’ culture itself contributed to the calamity.

“The Wild West approach to protecting public health and safety is what you get when you give companies too much economic freedom and not enough responsibility and accountability,” said Thomas O. McGarity, a professor at the University of Texas at Austin School of Law and an expert on regulation.

-------------------------

Three schools were destroyed in the blast. Republicans don't care about their kids. They put chemical plants next to playgrounds.

Ignorant USMB Republicans say it can't be true. But that's why they are ignorant. Cuz they refuse to believe the truth.

Funny, they believe everything Trump says and no one lies as much as him.

Now you are being just plain stupid.

First of all, 87% of lost manufacturing jobs were automated. The never left to go overseas. They were replaced with robots.

Finally, if you have to choose between your job and your kids living next door to a chemical plant, then you don't deserve kids. And you complain about abortion? But don't care if your kids have three eyes and 11 toes?

No, you're full of poo as usual. The jobs coming back will be mainly automated, that is true, but the jobs that left were thanks to increasingly strict government regs. So long as the companies only had to contend with one set they were fine, the problems arose when they had to start buying bio fuels, that didn't exist, but the EPA would fine them anyway.

But, you're stupid so wouldn't understand that.

"A Fine for Not Using a Biofuel That Doesn’t Exist

WASHINGTON — When the companies that supply motor fuel close the books on 2011, they will pay about $6.8 million in penalties to the Treasury because they failed to mix a special type of biofuel into their gasoline and diesel as required by law.

But there was none to be had. Outside a handful of laboratories and workshops, the ingredient, cellulosic biofuel, does not exist.

In 2012, the oil companies expect to pay even higher penalties for failing to blend in the fuel, which is made from wood chips or the inedible parts of plants like corncobs. Refiners were required to blend 6.6 million gallons into gasoline and diesel in 2011 and face a quota of 8.65 million gallons this year."

Yea, dumba$$. Facts. I am not like your kind. I don't make claims without backing it up. Like birth certificates and child prostitution rings out of pizza parlors.

West ISD Demolishing Schools Damaged by Plant Explosion

April’s fertilizer plant explosion left three of the four schools in the town of West, Texas destroyed or irreparably damaged, with the intermediate school completely flattened by the blast.
