I would assume it feels amazing to be a lefty. It's a philosophy that largely tells its adherents that their political beliefs are compassionate, and they therefore are compassionate, as opposed to the people who disagree with them and are therefore misanthropic. Like any good religion or ideology, the general belief of the modern left (Social Justice, intersectionalism, etc) allows them to believe themselves superior simply due to their adherence to political doctrine. And who doesn't like to be superior without actually having to accomplish anything meaningful? McDonalds for the soul, baby!
