Snow is what will end the drought in California. They're going to need more than few storms to get that done. They need dozens of feet of snow in the mountains. That is water that will melt slowly enough to fill in aquifers and lakes for the entire summer. They'll need a couple of years of it too.

THAT is what will end the drought.

No one said anything that the recent heavy rains and snow will end the drought BUT it put a big dent.
Part of California received 15+ feet of rain and some areas with 10 to 15 feet of snow. Flooding in northern and central California, heavy snow in sierras and southern ca by big bear areas is a very good sign. Next 2 days Thursday or Saturday we are expecting heavy storm.
If these continue till next month maybe just maybe will be out with this miserable drought.
