How do we fix our problems as a nation?

Captain America highlights the problem.

Rather than showing a scrawny kid overcoming himself and his own weakness through hard work in order to become a hero, it teaches the masses to wait for the magical elixer, the deus ex machina, that will make them more than what they are. Without drugs and the work of outside parties, the protagonist would have been nothing. We must reverse this and encourage the Hollywood machine to instead create an atmosphere where the hero who strikes out on his own is worshiped. Let the gym replace the radioactive spider, let the pursuit of knowledge and self-direction replace obedience to the military machine.

We must must redirect America's propaganda networks if we are to reshape society.

I'd like to see some serious discussion here. Let's not think through a partisan lens. Let's pretend there are no such thing as Democrats or Republicans. Let's pretend there is no such thing as Liberal or Conservative (or libertarian) or anything else you might think up.

As human beings, how do we fix the problems our nation faces?

First, I think we need to determine what the main problems are. Tell me what you think our biggest problems are. And are they symptoms of something else or the source of other problems?

Second, should we solve them through government or by acting as individuals?

Third, Tell us some of the ideas that we can impliment in our own lives to fix the problems our nations faces.

First of all, you have to be partisan here, because politics is what is ruining this country right now. Start with entitlement spending, emplace politicians who will reign in this spending, lower corporate taxes to allow for businesses to hire more employees, and lower the Federal tax to allow for citizens to spend more money which will put more money into the economy. After that lift the drilling moratorium and stop importing oil, this will lower the cost of oil consumption for American Citizens and will be a huge revenue intake by selling to other countries. We could also export our oil to China to help take care of our debt to them "They need oil badly anyways". If these things where done, it would turn this country around. It would be hard at first, but would get better over time.

Correct.

From the very beginning it was understood that those candidates who received a majority would be elected to power.

But what wasn't understood was that our rights would be subjected to will of the majorities.

Therein lies the problem. majorities have created a welfare/warfare state and taxpayers are compelled to support those programs.

meirtocracy or mammonism JB, they just don't coexist easily....

OK, some thoughts. Maybe our nation can't be fixed. It is too big, with too many people, and we have become a sort of Tower of Babel with everyone speaking a different language, respecting a different culture, and so on.

The best way to "fix" the problems we face is to simply let the USA wind down and die a natural death, and let new nations rise in its place.

I am not sure anybody seriously thinks America is going to get better from here. I think its best days are behind us. We once flew to the moon, and now, we are prosecuting Amish farmers for selling raw milk. We are not willing to do a thing about 30 million illegal aliens who all speak Spanish -- except change the signs in Home Depot for them.

America's rankings in the world have dropped over the years. Our credit is no longer good -- China isn't buying our debt anymore. We don't even know who we are or what we want. It's all a mixed-up jumble.

There's truth in what you say. The more micro managing a policy is, the closer to home the political decision to enforce it should be made.

Seriously, the way to fix our country is to collect all the liberals and put them in reeducation camps where they will be taught simple logic, genuine American history and the evils of socialism.

Seriously? Re-education camps?

:lmao:

Well we certainly have learned how not to. That is, don't Elect a Radically Liberal President, and give him control of Both Houses of Congress.

Back to the drawing board we go.

As far as what our Biggest problem is. That is simple, and anyone who does not agree simply does not get it. The biggest problem is Debt. Not just the 14 Trillion National Debt either, SS and Medicare Need to be fixed so they are both viable, and sustainable. We must find a way to balance the budget and produce a surplus because we must pay down some of the Over all Debt. The Interest alone is killing us. Last time I heard it was around .5 Trillion a year. If you start looking at our Over all Future Debt Obligations when you combine all Federal and State programs, You come up with unthinkable numbers. Something like 110 Trillion dollars in Future Unfunded Debt Obligations.

None of our other problems even come close, and none of them will matter if we do not correct this problem.

I'm not sure I follow.
Clarification request.

Hey while you guys have been playing grab ass on here, a bunch of beaners just snuck into America.

Stupid bitches

Ship all racists to their own island.

How you like them apples?

If we did that,

1) Jews would all be sent to Israel
2) Hispanics would all be sent back to Mexico and South America
3) Blacks would all be sent to Africa

etc.!

How you like them apples?

They are very simple to correct, Merely restoring the Constitution and enforcing it will do the trick.

And You're not literate.

Under my proposed reforms, you would not be allowed to vote, since you couldn't pass a High School-level English test.

Uhmmmm, yes he could. You don't know much about modern American government run high schools, do you?
