HEAVILY propagandized in my area of the USA which was
populated by LOTS of sympathizers. Because of the place I lived---
the Nazi propaganda fell into my hands as a child and I encountered

had been "restricted" until the post war baby boom made
selling houses just too profitable. When I was a kid----there was not
a single black family in the town----when my famly moved in----5
little jewish kids--------some women SWOONED.

There is certainly a tradition in conservative religious circles to blame the Jews for killing Jesus, so I doubt it would have been a stretch for Germany to manipulate that sentiment.

sheeeesh-----did you ever spend time on the playground?----listen
to what the children say. The first theological discussion I heard as
a kid was between a protestant and a catholic. -----it was all about
MARY-------we three girls were all six years old. I did not take part----
but the catholic and the protestant went at it BITTERLY. In that town
if someone saw a black person walking around UNASSOCIATED
with some kind of menial labor------he was likely to notify the cops.
It was long ago------the 1950s

Hitler didn't invent antisemitism, he used it.

Antisemitism has been part of American culture since our inception. The famous industrialist Henry Ford published books and newspaper articles on the subject of 'The Jewish Menace' in the '20s. Father Coughlin and others religious persons preached it on the radio in the 30s. There were quotas limiting Jewish attendance at most Ivy League Universities well into the '40. You could legally not rent or sell property to Jews until the '60s. Some hotels and clubs in America legally refused to allow Jewish visitors into the '70s.

But, Hitler could only have been a threat to American Jews if he had won the war in an absolute or limited way. One of the first things the Nazis did with any territory they invaded or co-opted was to have those countries ship their Jews to the Germans for extermination. Even the parts of France that weren't under Nazi Occupation or Vichy Administrations willingly shipped Jews to the Germans.

But, Hitler didn't win and when the full extent of the Nazi atrocities were exposed to the world, even many of those people who felt animosity to the Jews were so ashamed by the excesses of the Nazis as to rethink (or at least publicly suppress) their antisemitic thoughts.

up with the novel idea that jews of today have nothing to do with
killing Jesus-------the catholic kids took it well----but some of the
protestants were INDIGNANT. It was about 1964 (?)

I guess that was pre 70s
....ok--so it would seem hitler would not have much impact as you say it was already there...?

If you believe that Jesus was given up as a sacrifice for our sins to reconcile justice with mercy, then you must believe that we all killed Christ.
