Hilarious Spin: Trump Caused the Shutdown!

L3RYMZG.jpg

Ok, let's try more reality:

* How many votes did the funding bill get in the Senate? Answer: 50, and Pence was prepared to break the tie if there were no filibuster.

* If the funding bill got 50 votes and Pence was prepared to break the tie, why didn't it pass? Answer: Because the Democrats engaged in a filibuster so that 60 votes were required to pass the bill.

* How many Democrats voted for the bill in the Senate? Answer: Only 5 out of 49.

* How many Republicans voted for the bill? Answer: 45 out of 51.

* What was Trump's position on the spending bill? Answer: He supported it and urged Senate Democrats to vote for it to keep the government open.

* Why did Senate Democrats filibuster the funding bill when they knew that defeating it would shut down the government? Answer: Because they insisted on tying DACA to the funding bill.

So the Democrats have shut down the government because (1) they want to make sure that children/teens who are here ILLEGALLY get to stay here, along with their parents, who entered the country ILLEGALLY, and (2) they do not want to end chain immigration.

Are you folks really this STUPID? Do you know what filibuster is? Do you understand that it takes 60 votes to end a filibuster? Do you understand that the Democrats invoked a filibuster and that that's why the funding bill was defeated? Unreal.

Yeah, Republicans have a 51-49 majority in the Senate. But that is not enough to keep the Democrats from blocking bills with filibusters if 41 Democrats support the filibuster.

Oh my goodness. Let's see:

* Trump spent most of Thursday and Friday on the phone trying to convince Senate Democrats to vote for the House spending bill that would have kept the government open for another month.

* Trump repeatedly asked that DACA be considered separately from the budget, as it should be.

* The Democrats insisted on tying DACA to the budget.

* After the House passed a spending bill on Thursday by a fairly comfortable margin, Senate Democrats invoked a filibuster so that Republicans would need 60 votes to keep the government open.

* Trump invited Schumer to the White House on Friday afternoon to try to persuade him to support the spending bill and keep the government open.

* Schumer continued to oppose the spending bill and voted against it, as did most of his fellow Democrats.

* 45 of the 51 Republicans in the Senate voted for the spending bill, but only 5 Democrats voted for the bill.

Liberal conclusion: Trump caused the shutdown! You can't make up stuff that's funnier and more pathetic than this.
Let's do the blame game.
-First Obama implements DACA a bill that first appeared in 2001, giving a clear path to citizenship for people who where born and raised in the US.
-Second Trump promises on campaign not just a wall, but that Mexico pay for it
-Third Trump rescind DACA siting he wants congress to rule on it, not have it by EO. ( Trump has signed over 50 EO, but that one he didn't want?)
-Fourth. Democrats feel that since DACA recipients will be in danger of deportation in early march and NO steps have been taken to address the situation, use the budget to get a deal struck.
-Fifth. To that end they negotiate a deal that first Trump is for, then comes out against because he wants both funding for the wall that MEXICO was supposed for and a complete overhaul of the immigration system. Using the fact that he blew up DACA in the first place as leverage. Going as far as to use shithole countries in the negotiation, thereby insuring that Democratic lawmakers have to take a stand in order to keep the loyalty of their base.
-Sixth. The Republicans couldn't even get a budget that would be acceptable for all their own members.
But the Democrats are responsible? Here's a tip. When you NEGOTIATE something, you are supposed to let the person you negotiate with, get something in return. And when you act like a bully and the other person isn't afraid of you they will tend to fight back

Lies, half-truths, and distortions. DACA should not be tied the budget in the first place. 45 of 51 Republicans voted to keep the government open. 44 Democrats voted to shut it down.

Here is what Trump himself said about shutdowns...

“I mean, problems start from the top and they have to get solved from the top and the president’s the leader. And he’s got to get everybody in a room and he’s got to lead.”

“They’re not going to be talking about who was the head of the House, the head the Senate, who’s running things in Washington,”

“So I really think the pressure is on the president,”

The level of dishonesty and hypocrisy in your and other liberal replies is truly astounding. Trump spent most of Thursday and Friday trying to convince Democrats not to block the funding bill and to keep the government open. Trump urged all Republicans in the Senate to vote for the bill, and the vast majority did so. But 44 Democrats voted against it and blocked the bill--and shut down the government. Your spin would make Joseph Goebbels proud, if not a bit ashamed.

Trump caused / FORCED the Democrats to shutdown the govt by putting Americans 1st and by pointing out that 'DACA' is a separate issue from the budget that should be addressed separately...?!

Bwuhahaha....

* 47 of the 51 Republicans in the Senate voted for the spending bill, but only 5 Democrats voted for the bill.

Trump didn't mention this highly relevant fact in this morning's twitter rage.

"For those asking, the Republicans only have 51 votes in the Senate, and they need 60. That is why we need to win more Republicans in 2018 Election! We can then be even tougher on Crime (and Border), and even better to our Military & Veterans!
6:44 AM · Jan 20, 2018"

Stupid Trump lost four members of his own Party who agree with the Democrats. Trump is to be blamed for the failure to lead and the shut down.

Don't believe me? Just ask Trumpo:

Trump's comments blaming Obama for 2013 government shutdown resurface
BY JACQUELINE THOMSEN
TWEET SHARE EMAIL

President Trump's comments about the 2013 government shutdown during the Obama administration have resurfaced as the federal government races toward a shutdown of its own.

Trump spoke to "Fox & Friends" in 2013 and was asked who would be fired during a government shutdown, as shown in a clip posted by "Morning Joe."

"Well, if you say who gets fired it always has to be the top," Trump said. "I mean, problems start from the top and they have to get solved from the top and the president's the leader. And he's got to get everybody in a room and he's got to lead."

He said that further down in history, "when they talk about the government shutdown, they're going to be talking about the president of the United States, who the president was at that time."

Trump's comments blaming Obama for 2013 government shutdown resurface

News media only needs to keep playing the FOX & Friends video during the ongoing shut down.

Idiot Trump's words come back to haunt him once again.

State of Union will suck for Trump more than it would have if he DOES NOT LEAD and open the government back up.

Trump signaled to Dems + 4Rs that his weakness is the SOU speech being personally messed up for him.

Prediction: Trump caves on DACA. Lindsay Graham controls Trump right now.

Graham has no reason to cave.

Trump also televised this:

"......But at a key point in the televised legislative strategy meeting, Trump appeared to suggest that he could support legislation, as he put it, for a "clean DACA bill."

And at another point, said he was willing to let Congress handle the details and would sign the bill they sent him.""

Trump Feeling The Pressure To Get Dreamer Deal Done

And last night apparently Trump again reneged on a deal that Schumer made by giving Trump something on his stupid wall.

John Kelly suggests Trump wasn't 'fully informed' when he promised wall across entire border

No. People that are born in the United States are citizens automatically, whether they are raised here or not. This has been so ever since the Constitution was adopted.

liberal fool said:

President Trump rescinded Obama's DACA EO because it was ILLEGAL. Congress controls immigration, not the President.

liberal fool said:

Democrats have until March 5 to work out legal legislation to allow current DACA recipients to remain in the country. They made their demand to include DACA in a spending bill in order to insist on expansion of illegal immigration and increase their voting block.

Anything included in a spending bill should be related to spending. The loony Democrats want to include expansion of an illegal immigration EO in a spending bill. They are doing nothing more than hostage 'negotiations'. What they did is attempted extortion. Liberalism is a mental disorder...as exemplified in your asinine post.

You are right my bad. On the other hand I would call somebody who had lived in the US since before they could talk as American.

President Trump rescinded Obama's DACA EO because it was ILLEGAL. Congress controls immigration, not the President.
It's not illegal to not choose to enforce deportation for DACA recipients. There's no ruling on the legality of it by ANY court because it is NOT illegal. The status quo could have been maintained without any problems. Furthermore the legality of a particular EO has never been important to Trump, think of his first Muslim ban.

Democrats have until March 5 to work out legal legislation to allow current DACA recipients to remain in the country. They made their demand to include DACA in a spending bill in order to insist on expansion of illegal immigration and increase their voting block.
They made it at the only time they have some leverage. What are they supposed to do, keep their mouth shut and accept that Republicans don't give a shit?

And putting unrelated stuf on a bill is something BOTH sides have been known to do. Saying it is wrong is at best hypocritical if not dishonest. I thank you for answering the premise of what I say.
President Trump has made it clear that he does not want to deport law abiding DACA recipients. He wants a LEGAL law (a product of legislative action) to replace the illegal EO by Obama to alter our immigration laws with his pen. What Obama did was unconstitutional. Trump merely rescinded the illegal act. He gave Congress until March to pass a bill allowing DACA recipients to become legal immigrants.

The Schumer led Democrats can introduce a bill to rectify the DACA dilemma and negotiate its passage by March. It has nothing to do with funding the government and should not have been attached to the proposed CR.

Do not forget Trump Shuttle Inc. He took an airline that had been profitable for 30 years, overpaid for it and then bankrupted it within 3 years. That is a record even for Trump.

So the Democrats have shut down the government because (1) they want to make sure that children/teens who are here ILLEGALLY get to stay here......

So does Trumpo. So why doesn't Trumpo rescind his executive order shutting down DACA?

Trumpo put the law abiding Dreamers in jeopardy of deportation but does not want to deport them. Is he schizo?

And he wants $20 bn US taxpayer to pay for a wall he is misinformed about. Why isn't he getting the money from Mexico like he promised?

Such a liar.

Didn't Trump say no WALL no DACA? As I understand there was wall funding in the budget. Is that true, just asking to get some facts.

Yes, there was some funding for the wall in the budget, but not nearly enough to complete it on a timely basis.

Trump has even publicly specified that the wall does *not* have to be only a physical wall but that it can be a virtual wall (motion and thermal sensors) where feasible. Democrats *vote for* a similar approach in 2006.

The point is that DACA and the wall should not be linked to funding the government. Those are issues that should be dealt with separately from funding the government. Imagine if we started tying gun control, labor law, abortion, etc., to the budget. That's not how you run a country.

That's a good idea. Have Trump tell Schumer, vote on the damn bill or I'll rescind DACA immediately.

Every day that goes by, Shoooomer sinks a little deeper into the muck. Even the most Kool-Aid saturated Liberals don't believe it was necessary for Chuckie to create this havoc. His weak attempts at blaming President Trump are ringing very hollow. It is also helping the GOP cause in the upcoming elections.

Democrats are LIARS sorry to say I told you so, they filibuster and shut down the government then blame Trump riiiiiiiiight. Do you see now why you can't negotiate with these filthy scum?
