There are two major candidates for President. One has used his most recent elected position to expand and enhance gun ownership rights.

The other took steps to increase enforcement of gun laws and fawned upon the strict laws that ruled his state as a way to keep people safe.

As heard after the November, 2008 presidential election "He was young and looked cool, so I voted for him" Ran into her again New Years Day, 2009 and the topic of conversation was how to obtain a pistol permit before Obama took the guns away.
"Good! At least next time when my husband goes away I'll have my mother, the dog, and the gun!"
They had just bought a condo and joined George Bush's "Ownership Society" Amazing the changes people undergo between when they're financially footloose and fancy free and when they gain some reponsibility. That's the reason the founders restricted the right to vote to only the property owners in the beginning. They had the most to lose therefore they should have the most to say about who did the governing and how. But over time that has been pissed away. The most copious of the pissers was a recent, now deceased US Senator, reknown for his swimming prowess and his stamina during an all night stint in a completely rented Mexican bordello who forty years ago realized that the orginal decendants of the founders were proving too rigidly self reliant, stubborn, and stiffnecked to swallow the poison the Democratic Party was then peddling. He then proposed limiting and restricting immigration from the areas of the world that previously supplied the bulk of America's immigrants and founders and instead opening up immigration to the other regions of the world from which the newly arrived immigrants would be more amenable to what the Democratic Party was trying to sell.
The proof of the Senator's acumen was the election of Barack Hussein Obama.
See Daniel Greenfields excellent essay "When Governments Elect The People"

Only he can't, The Constitution is pretty clear on this, not a lot of wiggle room. All Treaties must be ratified by Congress.

Indeed...a total run-around from the Second Amendment. If he signs it? He and those idiots that ratify it in the Senate should be held on charges of Treason.

    WRONG...the US Senate.

    Article 2, Section 2, Clause 2.

    The 'Congress' portends both houses.:eusa_hand:
