Here comes the IRS!

Source: Daily KoOkS; that's all anyone needs to know. No reason to try to read or understand the text of this post, or of the linked article. The source is enough to tell you that it's all insane bullshit, and nothing more. That it is skews13 that posted it is also a pretty good indicator of this, as well.

Here’s all you need to know about Republicans and back taxes: If Hunter Biden is behind on his taxes, it’s the worst crime in the world and worthy of a congressional probe spanning three House committees. If anyone else is dodging their taxes, that’s just smart.

Getting millionaires and billionaires to actually pony up what they owe requires the IRS to wade through pages of documentation created by the best tax-dodging attorneys on earth. This requires funding, so the Inflation Reduction Act added nearly $80 billion to IRS budgets over the next decade specifically so they could focus more attention on those who are taking home over $400,000. Republicans have done their best to raise the hysteria level, with Sen. Chuck Grassley going on Fox News to say, “Are they going to have a strike force that goes in with AK-15s already loaded, ready to shoot some small-business person in Iowa with these?”

Now we know why Republicans were really so frightened. On Friday, the IRS announced a “sweeping effort” to improve tax fairness. And that effort starts with going after the wealthiest tax-dodgers in the nation.

The IRS is prioritizing what it calls “cases in the High Wealth, High Balance Due Taxpayer Field.” These are taxpayers with incomes over $1 million who owe more than $250,000 in back taxes. The IRS estimates that there are about 1,600 individuals in this category.

There are other categories of taxpayers who will also be coming in for scrutiny:

  • Construction contractors who pay multiple subcontractors.
  • High-income earners who use foreign bank accounts.
  • Large transactions using digital currency.
Notice that none of these looks like the average taxpayer, or like that “small business person” who Grassley thinks they’ll be coming after with AK-15s. It’s also worth noting that these new funds are paying for accountants, who rarely do their math using semi-automatic rifles.

There’s a good reason that the IRS is checking up on these groups: Because they cheat. A lot.

Don't forget the real estate industry. Arguably the biggest cheaters of all. An entire RICO in and of itself.

Today's left wants pure authoritarianism and they will tell whatever stories (lies) they think they should in order to get there.

They've reached the point of telling lies that are so absurd that it is difficult to imagine that anyone would believe them.

But then, you see all the idiots on the left wrong, such as skews13, that seem to sincerely believe these lies, no matter how absurd. In fact, it seems that the more absurd and outrageous the lies, the more strongly they are believed by idiots like skews13.

It seems that Daily KoOkS is a publication written exactly to cater to these sorts of idiots.

And there's another one.

Nope. Not even close. Right wing misinformation is rampant.

Well if Huffingpaint says so
Using Huffpost to call out misinformation is comical :slap: !

At least it backs up what Daily KoOkS says.

Democrats will spend millions to grab a million in taxes. They're imbeciles.

Very good.

And of course the right’s unwarranted hostility toward the IRS is detrimental to working Americans.

Conservative millionaires and billionaires already get audited 6 ways to Sunday over their taxes.

The intent of the Leftist proposals to increase the IRS's budget is to terrorize the common people. Waitresses and Walmart Associates, etc.
Common people your ass. That’s who gets is fired when the IRS is short funded you dopes.

It costs money to go after the big guys and Republicans certainly don’t want that

It's also not illegal for Democrats to cheat on your taxes, just your political opponents. There's a lot of that going around

Fun fact, I've owned five businesses and knew a lot of business owners. That was the one unifying subject ever, Democrat business owners bailing on your party. Now if just more of you were that smart. I'm not holding my breath

Hunter doesn't justh ahve back taxes...he just didn't pay taxes, he didn't file at all.

why do we need $80 billion added to the IRS budget to go after 1600 individuals? that makes no sense. Use some common sense..

Look, first of all, those that support axing these additional IRS agents are little more than easily manipulated useful idiots. I mean look at the chart I linked to. Audits of taxpayers that utilize the EITC has been relatively stable. And audits of taxpayers in the lower income quintiles has only dropped a little bit. But audits of the wealthy have plummeted, the highest income earners by 87%.

And there is a reason for that. The IRS doesn't need "agents" to flag a suspicious return for someone filling a 1040 EZ, for someone that has all their income on a W2. I mean they have computer algorithms for that. Even waiters and hair-dressers, self-employed plumbers and electricians. Rather you realize it or not, the IRS is going to cross-index your tax return with bank records and 1099's. Move more money through your bank account than you are documenting on your tax return, you probably getting a visit.

But the second thing that is really revealing is this. Almost from the get-go, in fact, one of the first acts of the new Republican majority Congress, was an attempt to get rid of those new IRS agents. Even when it came to negotiated the extension of the debt ceiling, they attempted to horn in the elimination of the hiring of these new agents. That, despite the fact that the bipartisan CBO clearly stated, these IRS agents are a revenue generating proposal. Cut them and you INCREASE the deficit.

Look, most you pissants probably don't even pay income taxes. I mean when your only income is your Social Security check, from retirement or disability, you don't pay taxes. And even those of you working probably make less than median income for your state, what you pay in taxes doesn't amount to a hill of damn beans. And the IRS has it so damn bad, is so damned understaffed, that even though they are required by law to audit the president and vice-president, they still haven't completed Trump's 2017 audit. You think Biden is grifting, well good luck getting the IRS to audit his tax return.

And in the end, that is just it. The Republicans ain't worried about the deficit. They sure as hell ain't worried about you, you simple little shitass. They are not even worried about the people that donate $2,000 to their reelection campaign. Who they are worried about are the multi-millionaires that donate a couple hundred thousand dollars to their PAC. The "bundlers" that raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for them. The very same people that are turning in tax returns that belong in the fiction department of the library. Bad enough that they have managed to manipulate the tax code so that investment income is taxed less than earned income, and wealth can be transferred to the next generation taxfree, now the SOB's aren't even willing to pay what the taxcode says they should.

I mean a "real American", well that would piss them the fawk off. The founders, they would tar and feather these SOB's and run them out of town on a rail. You stupid shits don't even know what that means or entails. You ain't a real American, you are a useful fawking idiot.

We need to end individual income taxes entirely and go to a sales tax only system. That will end tax cheating and all the money we waste on enforcing our insane tax system

So Republicans care about the same thing Democrats care about, their big donors, otherwise there would be no need for them to need big donors, like both parties do.

Sad how it is party over country, but this is where we are.

Wow, way to keep being a useful idiot. The poor and middle class spend every dime they make, so they pay taxes on all of it. But the wealthy, they don't spend everything they make so they won't pay taxes on all their income. What a dumbass, regressive, tax proposal. I mean damn, do you people not have two brain cells to rub together.

I do this for a living, you obviously don't. I have no interest in explaining finance to an ideologue who doesn't recognize when someone knows more than you
