Health Care -- Approval Up 12% After Obama Speech

BHO is popular and the cons are not. Simple. Reform of health care is going to pass.

BHO is popular and the cons aren't in OPPOSITE world, where you reside.

Reform of health care may pass...and that will be the end of the Democratic Party as it now exists.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Just like Social Security and Medicare did!

Why don't you go burn some Beatles records?

only souless people with no foundation will bend to slavery, thats why liberals are joining up in droves.

The end for the Democratic Party as when they passed Medicare?
Uh...The GOP got the presidency in the late 60s- early 70s, with a brief interruption by Democrat Jimmy Carter, then 12 more GOP years. Then, Clinton came and promised to be a bit less liberal than was expected of the Democrats. And he totally trashcaned healthcare when he realized it was destroying his reputation. In fact, moving to the center helped him get REelected. If he tried to get a bunch of liberal programs passed through from '93-'96 (and the Democrats still maintained the legislative branch after '94)...he probably would have been toast (Stay to the middle, yes?). '00 brought us the Bush Administration of the first decade of the 2000s, Republican again. If the GOP didn't squander their luck with the foreign policy adventurisms and liberal economic policy, that "GOP reign for a generation" might have happened.

The guy DID have a valid point.

Although, I'd say the Democrats were more comatose than dead.

Barack Obama got them out of that coma...for now.

Souless people?

Bullshit!

Every other industrialized nation in the world has national health insurance, and they pay HALF per capita what we pay for healthcare.

Our system is expensive, bloated, and immoral.

It sucks to be on the losing side of history, doesn't it?

Hmm...are we "those other industralized Western democracies," or are we America the Republic?

We fought a war to rid ourselves of Euro rule...now we want to do EVERYTHING they do.

My my...Whether you believe in the Bible or not, Isaiah 5:20 sure seems to apply to this!

Gee that is almost exactly the increase Rassmussen gives for Democrats? Gee I wonder what that implies Likely that CBS still hugely over represents Democratic precincts in their polling...

how absurd... one might easily apply that to you, of course.... I guess it depends on one's perspective. I don't think, however, that that adds anything...in fact,I'd say it makes for ridiculousness...

but, let me get this straight... even if they do something in Europe that's the right thing, we shouldn't do it because it's 'eurorule"?

kinda counterproductive, eh?

and pssssssst...no one fought a war to rid themselves of "eurorule". A war was fought for independence from a particular government. I don'tthink it had anything to do with King George's regime giving or not giving health coverage.

CBS Poll: Americans More Favorable About Obama's Health Plan After Speech

Sep 11, 2009

President Obama's Wednesday night speech about overhauling the country's healthcare system appears "to have been successful — to some extent" according to a CBS poll, which "shows that Americans now give him the best marks of his presidency on handling health care, but they're still divided over whether he's clearly explained his plan," CBS News' Political Hotsheet blog reports.

"Last week, just 40 percent of these adults approved of how the president was handling health care. More, 47 percent, disapproved. After the speech, 52 percent said they approved and only 38 percent said they disapproved. Those are the best assessments for Mr. Obama's handling of health care shown all year by CBS News Polls." For this poll, CBS re-interviewed 678 adults on Thursday who were first questioned in another survey conducted August 27-31 (9/11).

The Hill's Blog Briefing Room writes about "the bad news: Almost half said Obama had not clearly explained the details of his health plan. And less than a quarter indicated the health proposals under consideration would 'help them personally,' according to CBS. That number in particular, CBS adds, has not changed much in the past week" (Romm, 9/11).

And of course you heard that 45% of this group were democrats & 18% were republicans--right?---

And ssshhh--by the time that Americans learn that Obama lied to them about illegals NOT being covered under HR3200---under section 1702 of this bill -you will probably see this little bleep disapear & turn very negative.

The way it's written right now--it doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of passing--especially after the protest today in D.C.

Democrats in the house know if they pass this bill as is--there will be a tsumani that rolls through their seats in 2010-like no other in the history of the United States. The democrat filibuster proof senate has already declared they will stop the house bill cold.

It's a dead duck--if they do not adopt a plan that gets rid of the public option all together.

Approval of around 50 percent versus approval of 20 percent.
Yeah, the people with 20 percent approval are clearly more popular.

Makes a lot of sense. Just like passing Social Security and Medicare were big political losers too.

It would help your argument if you avoided making shit up.

"42% of speech watchers identified themselves as Democrats, 27% were Republicans and 31% were independents."
