Anti gun on the left, pro gun on the right. Abortion on the left, pro life on the right.
Mass importation of 3rd world garbage on the left, secure borders, and strict immigration policy on the right.
Socialism on the left, capitalism on the right.

Plus many more...
Have the lines ever been more clearly drawn? Has there ever been a more appropriate time to talk about peacefully going our separate ways? The alternative is likely to cost millions of lives. We as a “Nation” are far beyond coming back “together”. We need leadership to start discussing this issue peacefully, before the people escalate handling it themselves...

The Left can go wherever they want. They can't take any land or resources with them, though.

Don't for a moment think that this has been anything but planned from the start.

I came to this site trying to bring folks together. When I do, I get called a leftist or commie by folks that don't know me by those on the right, and a fascist by folks on the left. Everyone thinks I'm a conspiracy nutter. It gets worse every year.

And the only people that benefit are the top one percent and the folks that are in charge of the whole game.

It's unlikely to be that simplistic. Both sides. Both Left, and Right; have drifted far from the vision of our founding fathers. Neither side can objectively claim to be the originalists...

Yes, there has been a general drift, but the Left is vehemently opposed to all things American and seeks massive change outside of constitutional limits via legislation supported by judicial fiat, which will be resisted.

The means for legal change are found in the Constitution. Applying any other method will likely result in a serious and destructive dust-up.

In any case, secession will not be permitted. One would think the Democrats would have learned this the last time around.

I love America so much that I think we should split it up over petty partisanship.

Or just nonsense coming from all directions.

no one ever wants to focus on what people have in common.....why is that? most people want a good job, good health care and a secure place to raise a family
Because people want to resolve the conflicts that negatively effect them. In order to do that; one must focus on the differences.

If secession is not permitted, bloodshed likely results. Just as dishonest Abe did it so long ago. His war cost 850k lives and terrible suffering, along with decades of injustice and increasing power to the central government. Why would we want to do that again?

Secession is the answer to so many problems. Some asshole once said, "a house divided against itself cannot stand"...he was right, but rather than let the people go their own way, he murdered them.

Secession has one very wonderful possibility. It likely results in a dramatic reduction in the size and power of the central government. That alone makes secession a wonderful thing.

Because people that have a good job, decent healthcare and a secure place to raise their family ...
Accomplished it without the corrupt government and partisan bickering ... :dunno:

.

Do you think it's going to get any "better"?

Of course.
I love America so much that I think we should split it up over petty partisanship.
The differences are becoming less petty every day...

Or more overly-dramatic.
Do you think it's going to get any "better"?

Sure. A good start would be to marginalize those that think the other side is somehow inherently evil for not sharing their beliefs.

The only marginal parties of late; are the moderates... And their numbers are dwindling.

Oh the drama !!!!

Settle down Beavis . We actually live in pretty good times. So we argue over Facebook. Big deal. Look at history and see what real tough times were like .

The only "party" that is marginalized ... Is the group of people that have had enough of this crap.

The group of people that doesn't look towards empowering the government to rule every aspect of our lives.
The group of people that isn't willing to give you (or the government) the authority to make us subjects.

I think moderates are growing up in numbers, but they don't get as nearly as much of the attention that the shrill and dramatic receive.
