It was a very poor idea in the first place IMHO - a nation should not tie its currency to another nation - it outsources FAR to much power and influence.

The Grexit wont be nearly as bad as people think. We've had basically 2 years to prepare for this. Most of the debt is held by governments, and they can take the hit. I'd see a huge sell on Wall St as a buying opportunity.

It is the ecomomic system preferred by lazy people which finds it needs the power of government to sustain it. One of the tenants of Socialism (and a Platform of the Democratic Party) is to never admit to anyone, even yourself, that its Socialism....because its tract record is 100% failure...in the end...but really good times at first, when the looting is going on.

Now, they are going to do what Detroit couldn't do, because Detroit is just a city full of Socialists, and they can't print up their own money.

A Socialist Country like Greece can print all the money its needs and pay off it debts just right...and all the Greeks will be happy until they notice that they need wheelbarrows instead of wallets to move their money to stores which have nothing to sell.

Then, as someone said above: "Hello Somalia".
