The vitter critter was relected.

Rs only care abuot sex scandals if the other guy doess it.

Oh, really? How many Republican sex scandal-ers hung around in office, versus how many Democrat sex-scandal-ers? Wanna count?

Jack Ryan - allegedly propositioned his own wife - outta there.
Mark Foley - sent inappropriate e-mails to pages - outta there.
Larry Craig - allegedly tapped his foot in a bathroom - outta there.

Ted Kennedy - left a girl allegedly pregnant by him in an Oldsmobile to drown - died in office decades later
Bill Clinton - flashed an employee, had sexual relations with an intern, was credibly accused of rape - finished second term and continues to campaign for Democrat candidates
Barney Frank - homosexual prostitute ran a call-boy ring out of his house - still in office
John Edwards - cheated on cancer-stricken wife and produced illegitimate child with mistress - continued to campaign for for Democrat candidates and causes
Gerry Studds - had sex with a 17-year-old Congressional page - re-elected to the House six more times

Anyone else notice that, not only does the Republican Party toss it's people off the train when they get in a scandal, but that Republican sex scandals don't seem to involve anyone actually having sex?
Republicans send their offenders home. Democrats send theirs back to Washington.

John Ensign is still there. Newt Gingrich will probably make a run for the top job again. Newt's dalliances were exposed after the Republicans made too much noise about Clinton's sexcapades, and he was replaced as Speaker of the House by Bob Livingston who was short-lived in the position when he confessed to the entire House membership of his own extramarital affairs. (They gave him a standing ovation. Go figure. But maybe it's because he cried.)

I accepted long ago that most men can't keep their zippers up, no matter how high profile they might be, or which party they represent. It's just one of those genetic codes that rears its ugly head (no pun intended) when the caveman mentality trumps all common sense.

Haha. It is a funny one.

It shows just how unhinged the right has become. Maybe now that the Republicans have control in the House again they can start another endless investigation.

Darryl Issa (who will become the new Chairman of the Oversight Committee) already has all his ducks (subpoenas) lined up in a row.

Vent your bitterness much? You DEFINITELY got the first part of your user ID right ... "Blind ..."

This from the crowd that's STILL blaming Bush .....:cuckoo:

Get a sense of humor, huh? It's free, and nowhere near as painful as that broomstick up your ass must be.

I'm seriously curious why you and others STILL don't think that the Bush Administration should take at least some responsibility for the economic meltdown. It's such a humongous problem, attempting to explain what happen must include his presidency. It's as simple as that.

I just saw this and still cannot stop laughing......
BTW, yesterdays elections were....GREAT

Funny poster.

Incidentally, Bill Clinton's popularity went up after the Republicans went after him like that, merely for political gain. That was an example of politics at its worst. Clinton left his presidency very popular, both because the economy did well, the budget was balanced, and he garnered a lot of sympathy after that whole fiasco.

Wrong. Eric Cantor lays out 22-page game plan - Jake Sherman - POLITICO.com

Cantor says he wants to do away with legislation recognizing “individuals, groups, events and institutions.”

He says he will try to ensure that all new spending has “explicitly” listed how it will be paid for and how the legislation fits into the constitution

On jobs, Cantor is planning to “conduct an immediate and comprehensive review of existing and proposed government rules and regulations” – echoing a major complaint of Republicans over the last year.

Sounds like common sense. That's a far cry from the same old shit.

I wholeheartedly agree with Cantor's suggestion about event recognition. Congress wastes entire mornings on that junk, and when you consider they often don't even begin work until mid-afternoon on Mondays and are outta there on Thursdays, they should use that time for better use. As for his other points, most are good ones, but he too will run into trouble simply because MAJOR POLICY change does NOT happen on any fast track. He needs to constantly remind people of that fact, just as Obama should have constantly reminded people that his own policy changes wouldn't take place overnight.

Cantor will indeed not get support for this one because "bringing home the bacon" (earmarks) is what helps House members remain popular in their districts (even his own).
Spending, a major priority of Republicans’, also gets top billing from Cantor. He says he will try to ensure that all new spending has “explicitly” listed how it will be paid for and how the legislation fits into the constitution. He’s likely going to upset some appropriators, because Cantor re-iterated his plan to end earmarking, promising to “not consider House legislation that includes” the member directed spending. He is also vowing to defund piece by piece Democratic health care overhaul.

I've only read this Politico article and not the complete proposal, but surely Cantor knows that the biggest hurdle concerning earmarks is the fact that they are rarely considered by the entire House or Senate during the construction of a bill, but attached during the conference phase of a bill's passage, which is when party leaders meet to iron-out the differences. Once that happens, both chambers must approve the legislation again, and if a member wishes to oppose a particular earmark, he/she must vote against the entire bill in order to do so. When earmarks are inserted into lengthy pieces of legislation, members will choose to ignore them just to get the legislation passed.

From what I understand, that is exactly what they plan to do...investigate Obama's birth certificate, ACORN, Michelle's trips, etc., etc., etc.

In other words, new Congress, same shit.
In other words, the things that SHOULD be investigated won't while the "who gives a crap" series of investigations will continue.

Some "things" should not be undertaken just because of the party-in-charge's presumption that if something smells, let's investigate. I honestly can't think of an example off the top of my head where an oversight committee's investigation (by either party) actually produced any results. The firing of federal judges went nowhere. A big fat waste of time. Clinton's Christmas card list? A fishing expedition. Even the 911 investigation was eventually turned over to an independent commission. An investigation by the oversight committee might result in a slap on the wrist and some unwanted publicity, but that's about it. Occasionally the committee will ask for a GAO investigation (in addition to the work involved in mandatory reporting), but I would think such a request would need to first prove there's a case to be had in the first place. (Similar to the function of a grand jury.)

Well a lot of Clinton's success was because he and Gingrich put aside their differences and compromised. I don't think it's an urban legend that the two of them used to have late-night phone marathons discussing the issues away from the din of the west wing. (Although I suspect that they also exchanged horror stories about how they hoodwinked their wives and then got caught with their pants down.)

And your list has only 27 entires. 27. Out of how many Republicans?

No, you dumb twat. As usual, you totally missed the point of clear English. It's not who has more sex scandals. It's who tosses them out versus who re-elects them and gives them standing ovations.

And that policy swings both ways, don't pretend it doesn't.

As for impeaching Obama, any attempt to do so will only result in a shot to the foot of the Republican party. There are too many issues in this country that need to be addressed and I don't think Obama has done a damn thing worthy of impeachment.
Good point, I also believe any attempt to impeach him would be perceived as wasteful and not solving the economic problems.

No one party holds the morality card.

So far as I know, 0bama hasn't yet suborned perjury in a civil case involving a civil rights violation on his part.
