Great day in the mornin'! Ryan's back!

A quick glance at Paul Ryan's budget, and it appears it still runs us up to a $20 trillion debt by 2020, though he was careful not to put it in black and white.

However, it can be gleaned by looking at the "Debt Held by Public" figure in Summary Table 1.

His budget balances in 2023.

lol, yup... Ryan is a joke of a human being.

If you want a budget to be balanced today instead of over the next ten years, it would require cuts and tax increases that no one would tolerate.

Just listen to the howling over Ryan's budget and multiply that times ten.

I lol at the Ryan budget.

ryan has clearly said the Tax raises made it easier to blanece the budget.

So why not add more tax increases?

His budget doesnt work like he claims it will silly

It would work. It would just be painful.

We are not going to get a balanced budget without pain. This is a fact. All these stupid efforts to avoid pain are just making the ultimate price higher.

We are still at very low rates for the wealthiest tax payers.

Hisotry shows we steam along with higher rates on the wealthy

He also said right on TV that the tax cuts made his budget easier to balence.

The right is dumb as a box of rocks

Either that, or you are the one dumber than a box of rocks. The optimum revenue enhancer for all governments is a growing economy. That brings in a hell of a lot more revenue than a tax increase.

It is called dynamic budgeting, wherein You consider actions taken now, and their effects on future economic results. Cause and effect.

I'm all for eliminating tax expenditures. All of them. And that would come at considerable cost to me.

An annual rite of spring...

An unattainable Paul Ryan budget........can baseball be far behind?

I challenge anyone to identify a single actual cut in Ryan's budget.

Any "cuts" you hear about are comparisons to other budgets. Just because Ryan would spend less on free puppies from the government does not mean he is cutting spending on them. It means he is not increasing spending as much as others would.

The only real "cut" is the elimination of ObamaCare, and that would actually save a lot of money. Especially the states.

Ryan's budget runs in the red until 2023.

Vermont's WAY-OUT-IN-FRONT!!!!!

I think the question is what was the purpose for him trotting this out again, especially after Obama successfully tagged this to Romney's 47% quote, which would have ended the election four weeks earlier but for Obama's first debate performance.

It could be helpful in that the dems in the senate will trot out their own budget, which will likewise have unobtainable taxes and avoided entitlement cuts. If we're to accomplish anything beyond sequestration, the senate will have to eventually have something with some support from gopers, and that means more than collins and grassley. There will have to be some defense cuts restored to get McCain and Graham on board with added taxes to get the revenue. The dems are going to have to accept domestic cuts that up to this point they find unacceptable.

However, Ryan would not be helpful if his budget is simply a first shot by the GOP house to not allow any vote on something a majority of the teaparty (I mean gop house) will not vote for. They're already grumbling about Boehner losing his speaker position over this.

NOPE, the numbers dont add up

List us a single number Obama gave us that "added up." Hell Obama said with the stimulus we wouldn't break 8% UE, then we hit over 10%... He said he wouldn't run if the economy was not fixed and he is president and we are still in a massive recession.

Ryan has put a plan on the table which has drastic changes to entitlements. Changes the Democrats do not want.

This will force the Democrats to put a plan on the table which has entitlement reforms of a different nature in it.

And that is the goal. To finally get entitlement reform front and center. Something needs to be done, and it is time to stop dicking around.

Ryan is putting the Democrats' feet to the fire, and has set the tone instead of them.
