Govt: "Run it like a business"??? WHY???

YOU made the allegation.

YOU have to give evidence that your allegation is solid.

YOU have not done so.

You have shown that to be your opinion, nothing else

[nd we have shown SO many times that the general welfare 'clause' that you guys love to use in an incomplete phrase, does not grant that power

Show the specific power granted in the constitution.. should be simple if it is there... just point out the complete phrase that grants the specific power... we'll be waiting

I'm going to present private sector employment, because republicans hate government employee's

Romney said of Obama, “he wants another stimulus, he wants to hire more government
workers. He says we need more fireman, more policeman, more teachers. Did he not
get the message of Wisconsin? The American people did. It’s time for us to cut back
on government and help the American people.”

private sector jobs

Eight years of supply side vulture capitalism.
Jan 2001 --111,631
Jan 2009 --110,985
---------------646 thousand jobs lost.

11 years,8 months of supply side vulture capitalism.
Jan 2001 --111,631
Jul 2012 --111,317
---------------314 thousand jobs lost.

Three trillion dollars in tax cuts in 11 and 1/2 years, and we wind up with
314 thousand jobs lost.

For Republicans, Lying is a way of life.

My evidence, as I have posted numerous times in numerous threads... the specific and complete wording of Article 1 section 8 and the 10th amendment...

Now.. you're up... show the specific writing and phrase that gives the power you state is held by government

Take a simple business approach to federal budgets. Let's say each department has a budget but each is supposed to end the year with a "profit.' That would be unheard of because right now, everyone in each department spends every penny of their budget or goes over.

But if government was run as a business, it would be manditory to end with a profit, or the Department Secretary would be fired. Each complimenting Department Director would be fired if he didn't come up with a profit in his area.

All of the sudden, emphasis would be put on watch dog waste abuses, nonsense trips for public relations and rewarding workers, overspending for questionable furniture and office space, unproductive or duplicative programs etc.

The "profits" at the end of the year would go to paying down the debt. And all would keep their jobs. Adjust the budget each fiscal year to accomodate the needs of each department.

The power company is a federally owned and operated thing??

Ehh.. wrong answer

Government does not prop up nor control whether a company is specifically able to do its business... It secures the laws of commerce, the security of commerce, and the freedom of commerce within the law

No. But neither is Delta or US Air. And the Feds put armed men on there to secure it in the name of interstate commerce, right? The Federal Govt doesn't own the SC State Port in Charleston, but the Feds provide policing for it through DHS.

You aren't being consistent.

Are those people/marshals providing the commerce?? You expect them to fly in a plane next to the passenger plane?? Are they restoring service if the plane has a problem?

You are getting way off base on this

Airlines should provide their own security. This is another example of the government subsidizing a business. Airports should be in charge of airport security.

And I have pointed out since you are not an accepted Constitutional scholar and authority, you have to do far more than posting the part of the Constitution and thinking that ends the argument.

You pull that in law school and you will be peddling door to door insurance within a week.

No, it would not. Instead it would go to reduced services, reduced quality of services, poor wages for worker bees and less of them, and bonuses to managers.

It does not take a law scholar to understand plain fucking English...

The numerated powers that are granted are SPECIFIC... it is not that government has unlimited powers and the exceptions need to be listed... it is indeed the opposite...

The wording and the specifics are clear... unless you have an agenda where you want the powers of government expanded without going thru the amendment process, which is also specifically laid out

The on to amendment 10, which is also very easy to understand

Amendment 10 - Powers of the States and People. Ratified 12/15/1791.

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Not everyone spends it all. Both Ron and Rand Paul had surpluses that they returned to the treasury.

This is the supreme law empowering and limiting the federal government...

It is the end all be all... even if people in government over the centuries have thwarted the law in their lust for additional power..

As stated, you do not have to be a scholar to understand this... it is short, sweet, and to the point... unlike something like the ObamanationCare

diamonddave fails in his argument. If he tried this in a high school class much less school, he would be led to the front door and academic exile.

You are entitled to your opinion but have no right to enforce your silliness on us.

Actually all you have done is say he needs to prove it then when he does you disregard it. You have provided no counter argument whatsoever. So make your case then if you want to win us all over and dazzle us with your knowledge of the law.

Posting the Constitution is not proof, only his belief.

He needs to quote evidence, analysis, and constitutional authority for his points.

He won't or can't do that.

Fail.

Evidence - The writing of the constitution itself, which is what grants, limits, and specifies power... it is the end all be all
Analysis - As stated, it is not Obamacare and 4000 pages of intricate shit. It is very easy to understand when you do not chop it up and end it where you want to end it to suit your means and agenda... the language is what it is
Authority - You think the SC (who is not constitutionally charged to interpret the constitution, BTW) does not have a will for power and has not made mistakes (purposely or not) when unconstitutionally interpreting the constitution?

You refuse to show anywhere that specifically states your claim of power in the constitution itself.. .whether some professor or blogger BELIEVES it is irrelevant... the language speaks for itself.. it is very specific

You fail, jokey.... I have all I need to back up my claim.. you have nothing to back up yours besides hot air and diarrhea of the keyboard

dave, you have to do more than print the Constitution.

Don't you understand that? You fail.
