Isn't that what the Democrats have been saying for the last 14 months?

GOP Senator..."tough shit" for the unemployed
I find it absolutely AMAZING that there are people in this country who would slime and Belittle TAX CUTS. for people who PAY taxes.
Tax cuts for rich people, yeah, those millionaires are suffering immensely having to pay taxes.
It's amazing people will vote solely on the promise of tax cuts, but then don't balance the budget. "Hey, vote for me, I'll pretend I'm cutting your taxes so you vote for me."
Really? you mean RNC? Like all the money that war costs? Tax cuts without cutting spending?
Would you care to answer my question? What is the problem with Bunning wanting to use the already borrowed stimulus funds to extend the program rather than borrowing MORE money a problem for you?
First off, wow, classic example of a deflection here. I'm talking about your stupid DNC comment, I don't care about your question
Nice little pot shot at gay people there. You must not like them.and this is your contribution to this thread? - a gay little comment about me.

Perhaps you misunderstood the point, but i don't blame them for taking the unemployment over a lower paying job. If the money is there then you take it.Illinois.
My cousin just started working as a recruiter out of college. He's got positions to fill but has trouble finding anyone to fill them because they're collecting unemployment checks that are larger than the job pays. He'll often "interview" people who say straight out that they don't want a job, they just need the interview to prove they're looking for work so they can keep collecting unemployment.
Now i understand there's people out there that don't abuse unemployment and use it for what it was intended for, but i'd prefer that the system really pushes the unemployed back into the workforce rather than encourage them to get comfortable outside of it.
I'm a conservative and I can tell you that in the same situation, I'd do the same thing. Once you get tied down in a new job, you are not very free to continue job hunting and going on interviews. Only a fool would settle for a job paying less than his unemployment benefit instead of trying to find a higher paying job in line with what he had been making in the past that his mortgage and expenses are based on. When push comes to shove at the end of your unemployment benefits, THEN you take the lower paying job as a last resort. Until then, you take the benefit and keep trying for a higher paying jobs. Common sense.
I'm blaming the fact that the money is there for them to take. I don't like to see anyone lose their job unless they truly deserved to lose it but people have to come to grips with reality and some point and realize that just because something bad happens to you doesn't mean someone else has to pick you up. We wouldn't be where we were as a country if our grandparents and those before them all felt sorry for themselves when something bad happened. We are as prosperous a nation as we are because people worked their asses off, and when life dealt them a set back, they worked harder to recover from it.
I may still be new around here, but i've yet to see you add something to a single thread.
Talking about socialism made me wonder just who pays for Jim Bunnings healthcare coverage?

You must've missed the 5 or so other posts of mine in this thread that included actual expression of thought. I understand if you can't comprehend that though; you've given me no reason to believe that you're capable of it thus far.

I agree with you. But isn't it interesting that it was our grandparents and parents who suffered thru those past era hardships and pulled themselves up by their own bootstraps that put all these safety nets in place?

didn't bash him. Holy cow, first time on a forum where all you can talk about is the specific people mentioned in an article? This thread has advanced past specifically talking about Bunning.
Deflection again.

Well you are showing yourself to be a master not only of deflection but also partisan hackery. Good job.
Not surprising, look at lot of the republican's constituents on here claiming anybody who doens't have a job doesn't have one simply out of laziness.

So.can you answer the question or not? What would be the problem with paying for extended benefits out of the dem slush.. err.. stimulus funds?

why do you suppose they did that?
so no one would use them?
