Bust them up into a hundred billion pieces and make them an example.

This is the moment the U.S. technology superpowers surely knew was coming: The U.S. government is preparing to crawl all over Google to figure out whether it is an abusive monopolist. Google parent company Alphabet Inc. and the other tech giants should be quaking in their fleece vests.

Bloomberg News and other news organizations reported late Friday that the U.S. Department of Justice is preparing to open an investigation into Google’s compliance with antitrust laws. If it goes forward, an investigation will no doubt be broad, lengthy, messy, and impossible for Google and its investors to predict.

That should terrify Google and every other big technology company — because there’s no guarantee that the antitrust Klieg light will turn on one company alone.

Google Should Be Afraid. Very Afraid.

Conservative show how much they love to regulate when they don't like the company....Yet howl when their favs have limitations or regs placed on them.....:10:

So Google owns every web search in the internet?

Being abusive is not a monopoly of the market.

Was Microsoft the only software company? DOJ went after them.
No, they were forcing people to buy Windows when they purchased the computer. That is the difference. No one is forcing you to use Google, Facebook, Twitter etc, etc, and they are not the only sites on the internet which does the same service.

Google should comply with the DOJ.

Stop algorithms that filter out sites that they are politically opposed to.

They don't have to there is no law saying they have to...Just like a business on the street doesn't have to advertise for a business across town.

They went after Microsoft because Gates wasn't sharing his billions with the Democratic Party and wasn't allowing them to put spyware in the Windows O.S. Once Gates started supporting liberal causes and made Windows FBI friendly, they left him alone. Notice how we're still forced to buy Windows?

But how will politicians find their own poll projections, or look up American History on the fly without G..O..O..G..L..E? Quick, somebody load up the Matrix.

Of course what else is new for the almighty dollar?

Yes, they did, and that was a mistake.

But MS behavior was a bit more abusive. They incorporated search engines into their operating system, and gave it away for "Free", putting other search engine companies out of business.

Here's the real problem. Google is just too damned good at what they do. I have my website/business up on all the search engines, but the only one that is really throwing any business my way is Google. (I do get some business from referrals, Thumbtack and Yelp)

So I get maybe 60 searches a month from Bing and 1500 a month from Google.

The Hill reported,

"YouTube is investigating conservative commentator Steven Crowder after Vox host Carlos Maza accused him of harassment and making derogatory comments about his ethnicity and sexuality.

"YouTube responded to Maza's tweet thread detailing his allegations, saying that it was 'looking into it further.'"

That is not You Tube's job.

It is a public accommodation. Civil rights legislation makes it clear that such discrimination is illegal.

If Maza has a criminal problem with Crowder, let him take it to the police. He also could sue. You Tube should butt out.

Such abuse has deteriorated Google's support among conservatives, who are naturally against antitrust lawsuits except in extreme cases.

Google now must rely on support from the communists on the left to win this battle.
