The times, when the opponents of the German army trembled on its approach, are over. Today, the armed joke, whose aircrafts can´t fly and assault rifles can´t shoot precise, is not even suitable for parades. After the debacle of the standard assault rifle of the Bundeswehr and the reports about the terrible condition of its air fleet and barracks it came now out that the ammunition German tanks use is likely unable to penetrate Russian T80/90´s armor. The Bundeswehr recently added about 100 used tanks to its tiny forces due to the conflict in the Ukraine. Now, there are some 328 tanks in service. Honestly, if the Russians would attack, any resistance with 328 tanks is suicide whether they are able to destroy Russian tanks or not.
Unclear is, if American M1 tanks are affected. M1 tanks use German L/44 cannons that were produced in the US under license.

OP is a fallacy since the Russian economy would collapse if it chose to wage war on the west.

The Russian forces are so ill equipped, poorly trained and led, that Germans could probably defeat them all by themselves, without any help from NATO. Russia can't even invade the Ukraine. And could their misadventures in the Caucasus have proved them to be any less competent? I doubt it.

OP is a fallacy since the Russian economy would collapse if it chose to wage war on the west.
The OP isn´t about a Russian war on the west but about the world´s best rated tanks that a incapable of defeating other tanks. German medias chose to take Russian tanks as example due to their general fear mongering since the crisis started in Ukraine.

The Jelzin times are over and the Russian army´s stroll through Europe would be a piece of cake.

Too bad your own OP contradicts your deflection!

"Honestly, if the Russians would attack, any resistance with 328 tanks is suicide whether they are able to destroy Russian tanks or not."
And so does your post #6!

"The Jelzin times are over and the Russian army´s stroll through Europe would be a piece of cake."

No, you've vastly overestimated their capabilities. The Russian army is not a professional force, at least not the way we define professionals. Outside of a few elite units, the Russians are poorly trained, relying on very rudimentary and outmoded techniques, led by a completely corrupt and incompetent officer corps, inflexible command structure, almost complete lack of supporting logistic units, mostly obsolete and poorly maintained equipment. Te Russians haven't launched a full scale invasion of the Ukraine because they can't.

Tanks are still important, but nuclear weapons are what gives the Russians strategic credibility. A theoretical nuclear bombardment of Warsaw was part of their tactical exercises during the recent Russian war games.

I consider that nonsense. I would even say that the Russians are the only ones capable of launching a full scale invasion of the Ukraine.

Tha Nato defense plan for Europe bases on nuclear weapons. It is largely known that the Nato has no chance against the threefold Russian superiority and it would wait for the Russian gatherings in Germany and nuke them.

You said..."The OP isn´t about a Russian war on the west "

But you contradicted that by saying this in the OP..."if the Russians would attack".

Why else would the Russians attack unless there was a war on the west?

You then compounded your contradiction with this statement..."the Russian army´s stroll through Europe".

What would that be except an invasion which would be an act of war?

Nothing. They simply don´t have the plan to do it. Russia will recognize the People´s Republic of Donetsk.

Three fold superiority of what?

Utter and complete nonsense. I thought we were having a serious conversation, my mistake.

I just explained that it doesn´t matter if the few German tanks can destroy Russian tanks or not.

Both soldiers and equipment.
