Which oil company owns a network, has a news room, and a dedicated viewing audience share of 'news', 'news' programs, gossip shows, entertainment 'news'? None. Which network is going to sell them that level of access and exposure they give for their favorite candidate, cheap? None. Do oil companies donate exclusively to GOP candidates? Nope.Oil companies don't give hundreds of millions of dollars in free advertising.
"There's only one thing worse about being talked about, and that's NOT being talked about." Oscar Wilde
you don't think oil companies make political donations?
i'd suggest that after citizens united, they make rather large ones to both candidates and PACs.
so really the right does need to stop whining.
Your argument is farcical on it's base.
I'm sorry, but thanks to citizens united, election difficulty for you guys was changed from Easy level to Normal. The left really needs to stop whining about having fair competition. You've had it too easy for too long.
The hue and cry of "whaaaaaa!!! Corporations can now spend like my favorite leftist union and PAC! Whaaaaaaa!!!!" is pretty old and petty.
The right has Rupert Murdoch who owns a media conglomerate. Corporations can spend far more than unions. The right wanted this Citizens United crap. Now, money = speech and corporations = people. Our country, government, and citizens are now just commodities to be bought and sold by monied interests.
