Nope. Not a thing. The financial squeeze is suffered by California. If the rise in price was the result of 45 dollars a barrel for oil, the nation would be paying $6.49 instead of just California. We have the highest gas tax in the country. Newsom raised it again in July. We have to have a special blend. So no, what we pay has nothing to do with oil being 45 dollars a barrel.I guess Oil jumping 45 dollars a barrel has nothing to do with this??? Moron...
It doesn't explain why the price was increased. Before you go further why not read up more than spewing BS.

He wants to raise taxes on oil companies!

As usual, what the Dems propose would have the exact opposite effect of their proposition.
Gas prices are more than $3.00 lower in Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R) Florida than in Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) California.
After the hurricane, even!

The price "was increased" because the price of crude oil "was increased."
Supply and demand, not magical wishful unicorn thinking is what drives prices.

How come the refineries won't answer themselves for the huge incease in the last weeks?California’s astronomical retail gasoline prices have been caused by two issues: refinery shutdowns and California’s strict environmental laws, which require special gas blends.
California has its own unique gas market, according to Mark Agerton, assistant professor in the department of agricultural and resource economics at UC Davis. “California is an island for gas—we make it all here,” he says.
Recently, several California oil refineries have gone offline due to both expected and unexpected maintenance, leading to hefty price spikes. While some of the refinery work has been completed, all of the work will not be finished until later in October, says Lindsay Buckley, director of communications and external affairs at the California Energy Commission (CEC).
California Gas Prices Near Record High, But Relief Is Close
California gas prices are approaching record-high levels, averaging $6.42 at the pump on Wednesday, almost double the national average. But some experts forecast a drop in gas prices as soon as this week. According to Bloomberg, wholesale gas prices in San Francisco and Los Angeles plummeted to twww.forbes.com
Great. But it has nothing to do with the OP.
I hope the oil companies make a ton of money.
Of course he could do what Ron DeSantis is doing in Florida this month.
Manage the state in a competent fiscally responsible manner so there is a surplus of revenue.
Then do away with the state tax on fuel during the month of October. Return some of that surplus to the taxpayers.
Beats the hell out of raising taxes like the Democrat morons want to do.
By the way.
DeSantis met with the CEOs of the power companies doing business in Florida a month ago. He told the CEOs that they could put in all this silly ass solar and wind power they wanted. However, he would not allow any price hikes that was not for the cheapest cost of fuel for the generators.
That is a good leader!
There is no excess. There is no output at night and no output when it is cloudy and it deteriorates over time and it is waste of money to put the stupid things in. Bad expensive technology.Excess solar power goes back to the grid. Desantis didn't do that.

Just environmental wackoism.
DeSantis isn't saying the idiots can't put any in. He is just telling the dipshits that he isn't going to make the people of Florida to pay for the stupidity.
You are confused. Solar sucks. They use solar during the day and propane at night. There's more solar than they can use during the day so it goes to the grid.. it's not rocket science. Been very successful in Florida .
Oh my, how stupid.
You are confused. Solar sucks.
Why should the people of Florida have their rates go up to subsidize a stupid technology when there are more cost effective alternatives?
DeSantis looks out for the people of Florida he serves, not the goddamn stupid Environmental Wackos.
Make it harder to refine, make it harder to find, put on a gazillion "green" regulations, virtue signal to your base who think climate change is a religion, then whine and complain when prices go up.
Progressives are so fucking retarded.
Economics.....libs just don't get it.
