"Future of Palestine"

Your hatred is seething in your words...You say his best selling scholarly work is biased, what else would we expect from a poster named Abu Afak who calls great and honest scholars clowns who are trying to warn this country about the Terrorism we suffer in part for the abusive Israeli state bent on warring with Islam over their land theft?

Abu 'Afak - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Also, I didn't see any hatred is his posts either. You should stop accusing people of posting hatred when you can't back it up, you seem to do it quite often
Let's face it, Toast. All the anti-Semites seem to get their jollies dragging up the same old same old, and this will be dragged up again by one of them. Looks Like Phillip and David Duke have a lot in common since they both appear to like the same people. No doubt these two men whose work Phillip and the other anti-Semites drag up are very popular on the NeoNazi/Islamofascist hate sites. In fact, it is very easy to Google what Stormfront.com has to say about these two men. The following, however, is from the Washington Post and not one of the hate sites used by the anti-Semites. After all, Phillip should realize that others can have their opinion too here in America, an opinion which doesn't coincide with his.

Eliot A. Cohen - Yes, It's Anti-Semitic

KKK members from by gawd west virgini morphed into Neo-Nazis...Remember Senator Byrd, from your home state? He was a KKK member.

Remember that when you speak of Neo-Nazism.

John Mearsheimer. The "Future of Palestine" lecture
As though Benny Morris' earlier kick in Mearcheimer's arse -
Like many pro-Arab propagandists at work today, Mearsheimer and Walt often cite my own books, sometimes quoting directly from them, in apparent corroboration of their arguments. Yet their work is a travesty of the history that I have studied and written for the past two decades. Their work is riddled with shoddiness and defiled by mendacity. Were "The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy" an actual person, I would have to say that he did not have a single honest bone in his body.
- wasn't enough, that Mearsheimer dumbass individual pooped again.
In April 2010, Mearsheimer delivered the Hisham B. Sharabi Memorial Lecture at the Palestine Center in Washington, DC, ...
Quoting the so-called "Middle East Research and Information Project" Hisham Sharabi, a formidable thinker and extraordinary teacher who, along with Edward Said and Ibrahim Abu-Lughod, led a generation of activist Palestinian intellectuals ... . All the usual suspects, of course.

I was struck by this John Mearsheimer lecture because it clearly lays out the future if Israel does not accept a free Palestine as the UN vote authorized...
So, what is that exactly, that the UN vote authorized?

"John J. Mearsheimer (born December 1947) is an American professor of Political Science at the University of Chicago.

"He is an international relations theorist.

"Known for his 2001 book on offensive realism, The Tragedy of Great Power Politics, Mearsheimer became better known for co-authoring with Stephen Walt the New York Times Best Seller The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy (2007).

"His 2011 book Why Leaders Lie: The Truth About Lying in International Politics is described as cataloging 'the kinds of lies nations tell each other.'[3]

"According to an interview with Mearsheimer in The Boston Globe, the lesson of the book is: 'Lie selectively, lie well, and ultimately be good at what you do.'"[4]

Leaders lie because that's the most efficient way to privatize profits and socialize costs in a democracy.

Corporations own my government largely by preselecting the corporate tools I get to "choose" between in the voting booth. Mearsheimer explains why that's necessary in a democracy:

John Mearsheimer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"His two main findings are that leaders actually do not lie very much to other countries, and that democratic leaders are actually more likely to lie to their own people than autocrats.[39]

"Thus, he starts his book by saying that it is not surprising that Saddam Hussein did not lie about having WMD—he truthfully said he had none—but that George Bush and some of his key advisors did lie to the American people about the threat from Iraq.

"Mearsheimer argues that leaders are most likely to lie to their own people in democracies that fight wars of choice in distant places, which is another way of saying the United States and Britain as well.

"He says that it is difficult for leaders to lie to other countries because there is not much trust among them, especially when security issues are at stake, and you need trust for lying to be effective. He says that it is easier for leaders to lie to their own people because there is usually a good deal of trust between them."

Why would anyone trust their government when its controlled by corporations and the richest 1% of voters?

georgephillip, et al,

I think it is fairly safe to say that many people place the honesty and integrity of American Politicians in the ranking just below that of a hungry, redneck, used-car salesman.

This is "class warfare" economic theory being applied to domestic politics by an international relations theorist; who has a Doctorate Degree in Government. He is part of the upper social class; having been a research fellow at the Brookings Institute, a post-Doctorate fellow at Harvard, and fellow with the Council on Foreign Relations (if not still).

Be careful who you fall for; in politics everyone is a chameleon. They show the colors they want you to see; with few knowing what their true colors are.

OFF-TOPIC

Dr Mearsheimer is correct when he describes Saddam as not having any post-1991 weapons manufactured. Dr Mearsheimer is substantially correct in that regard.

Do you believe Mearsheimer's correct when he says Saddam didn't lie about his WMD, but Bush and Cheney did lie to the American people about the threat Saddam posed?
(COMMENT)

I don't believe that POTUS or the VP pretty much cared what the truth was. They had other several agendas for the initiation of the conflict.

The information that was presented to the American people was based on intelligence analysis that was a decade out of date, compounded by extrapolations based on that dated material, further compounded by corrupted HUMINT, and even further corrupted by the introduction of expat's that had even more devious agenda. All this amplified by a inept Congress and the post-911 emotions of the day.

Such things are not "lies;" but rather delusions, self-deceptions, and an inability to grasp the realities by the leadership. It was poured onto an unsuspecting public that felt compelled to respond against a set of conditions that did not exist. These factors (and more), coupled with a military leadership that saw an opportunity for advancement, played a significant role in the events that were about to unfold.

The idea that it was a conspiratorial "lie" is an easy answer, and quick judgment; as bad as the judgment to invade. There were thousands of war supporters at the time from nearly every aspect of our society. And they each had an agenda of their own for supporting the war effort.

Most Respectfully,

If you ask me, the answer to Iraq was that the PNAC Neo-cons, were acting for Israel in conjunction with Bush for his daddy. Saddam was spewing threats at Israel and giving Palestinian suicide bombers families $25,000.00 if their homes were demolished by Israel.

The clamor to go to war was the drumbeat of the American media marching to AIPAC"s
tune...

In a political landscape where MONEY always rules, Rocco, those with the most money will continue buying the psychotic chameleons who write and interpret the rules.

Recent case in point from the Holy Land:

"JERICHO, West Bank (AP) — Israel's demand to keep control of the West Bank's Jordan Valley for 40 more years in the event of a peace deal is driven by economic interests, not security concerns, the chief Palestinian negotiator said Thursday..."

"He didn't refer specifically to Israeli demands in the negotiations, but said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called for keeping the valley under Israeli control for 40 more years..."

"'Mr. Netanyahu says he needs to stay another 40 years, in any (peace) settlement, in the Jordan Valley,' Erekat said. 'Of course, he will stay another 400 years with such a profit.'

"'It's not about security,' he said. 'It's about stealing land and profiting.'"

It's no secret Jordan serves the same master as Israel does, is it, Drivel?

"In 1991 Jordan agreed to participate in direct peace negotiations with Israel at the Madrid Conference, sponsored by the US and the Soviet Union. It negotiated an end to hostilities with Israel and signed a declaration to that effect on 25 July 1994.

"As a result, an Israeli-Jordanian peace treaty was concluded on 26 October 1994. King Hussein was later honored when his picture appeared on an Israeli postage stamp in recognition of the good relations he established with his neighbor.

"Since the signing of the peace treaty, the United States not only contributes hundreds of millions of dollars in an annual foreign aid stipend to Jordan, but also has allowed it to establish a free trade zone in which to manufacture goods that will enter the US without paying the usual import taxes as long as a percentage of the material used in them is purchased in Israel."

I pray that Israel makes a genuine and sincere offer.

But I will say this: no Israeli homes or infrastructure that was built on stolen Arab private property can be allowed to remain. None.

The only Israeli homes or infrastructure that can be allowed to remain is those that are built on former Jordanian public/state land.

We simply cannot allow the Israelis to get away with theft.

Just who is this "we" that you imagine you speak for?

And, I expect an exact parallel statement made about the assorted Arab League nations which conspired to ethnically cleanse their lands of Jewish communities en masse: not one building should be allowed to stand on land that was illegally confiscated from the Jewish citizens they despoiled...... Unless, of course, those rogue nations provide adequate compensation to the 950,000 or so citizens whose 'inalienable' (in the US) rights were illegally terminated as part of an international ethnic cleansing conspiracy.

It is drivel, indeed. Our honorable georgephillip is, thereby, advised to read the article provided to save himself the indignity of declaring a solar eclipse a bankers' conspiracy. Bonkers conspiracy though is allowed, of course.

Rich Jews and Jordanians declare their support for Zionism, is that your conspiracy, Drivel?

Does Jordan Want Palestinians In Control of The Border? :: Gatestone Institute

"Besides the security concerns, the Jordanians are also worried about the demographic implications of Palestinian security and civilian presence over the border.

"Their worst nightmare, as a veteran Jordanian diplomat once told Israeli colleagues during a private encounter, is that once the Palestinians are given control over the border, thousands of them from the future Palestinian state would pour into Jordan.

"The Jordanians already have a 'problem' with the fact that their kingdom's population consists of a Palestinian majority, which some say has reached over 80%. The last thing the Jordanians want is to see hundreds of thousands of Palestinians move from the West Bank or Gaza Strip into the kingdom.

"Although the Jordanians are not part of the ongoing peace talks between the Palestinian Authority and Israel, they are hoping that Israel will not rush to abandon security control over its long border with the kingdom. Understandably, the Jordanian monarchy cannot go public with its stance for fear of being accused by Arabs and Muslims of treason and collaboration with the 'Zionist enemy.'"

Have you noticed how many Arab "problems" began when 650,000 Jews inflicted their nation upon twice as many Palestinians in 1948?
