Even though the gay population is probably between 3 and 5% of the entire population, Republicans see them having equal rights as a much larger threat than the 50% divorce rate among heterosexuals, and the “swingers clubs in every state and the “swingers” conventions.
I also won’t talk about the Republican suspicion of scientists motives or that the majority of Republicans believe that a man could build a boat out of wood, pitch and nails and fill that boat with “million of pairs” of animals and ride out a “world wide” flood while taking care of these millions of animals.

I remember the days when they accused the GOP of doing the same exact thing just to scare seniors into voting Democrat...and now they're doing it themselves. Wasn't their favorite phrase "They want to Cut Medicare"?
2. What caused the housing collapse? - Well one of the major contributors was folks like Barney decided they wanted to make sure banks gave loans to people who could never repay them.....by the thousands. Once those people started defaulting banks started losing their asses. Everyone deserves a place to live...owning it shouldn't be a guarantee. Minorities were granted loans without a few qualifiers. A job that pays enough to afford the payments, good credit, and a down-payment as security. So it's no small wonder that these people defaulted.
The only fault you can give anyone on the other side that is involved is that they believed that the Dems wouldn't want to purposely screw everything up....but the longer this goes on the more it looks like this is what they have in mind.

I explained this before. Freddie/Fannie gave out more then 70% of the mortgages. They had rules.
1. You had to have a job.
2. You had to prove that you could pay it back.
Due to "deregulation" (among other things), mortgages and loans were moved to Wall Street. They passed out out the loans without the normal restrictions, bundled them together and sold them overseas as securities. That is why the housing collapse damaged overseas economies. Don't you wonder why the housing market in this country could affect so many overseas? Connect the dots.
