The Democratic Party cannot begin to be content and brazen with its status. If they do "over reach" and slide so far to the left that the middle class becomes weary, they will once again be in the minority in a few years.

But the republicans are devouring themselves. Palin and her travails with McCain are back in the news. If the economy comes back before the Congressional elections in 2010, Obama will be home free. If it doesn't the Dems may have a hard way to go.

I do think that the media dictates how Obama is perceived. Right now the only media outlet that is slamming him is FOX, of course. But if the economy doesn't improve by the end of 2009, that might change.

That's a rather bizarre statement but interesting too as 30 years of republican power have brought forth two leaders: Ann and Sarah, the only men in the republican party. And one is in media! More seriously consider that the only leaders are, a media blowhard, a draft dodging VP, and a woman from Alaska - the outpost of the world - you guys should hide in some corner, dunce hat on, as not only did you fail to govern but you failed to even create a new leader. That says lots.

Well, reality is a concept the evades the current Rushpublicans. From WMD to Katrina, they cannot and will not face the reality of their failure. Throw in two failed wars, failure to get the man that masterminded the murder of 3000 Americans on American soil, and all they have to hope for is someone else's failure. Then there is the little matter of the economic debacle that they engineered.
