FOX news switches on anti-gay laws

At first, Fox News contributor Kirsten Powers seemed to be the lone voice of Fox's dissent, penning a February 19 column in USA Today condemning "homosexual Jim Crow laws" for encouraging discrimination against gay customers - a column she was quickly attacked for by a number of her Fox News colleagues.

But soon, Powers was joined by Fox News Juan Williams, Martha MacCallum, and Andrea Tantaros, who all similarly compared Arizona's law to Jim Crow laws in the racist South and suggested that the push for religious liberty had suddenly "spiraled totally out of control."

Fox's senior judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano called Arizona's law "profoundly unconstitutional," adding that the Constitution prohibits Arizona from making distinctions on the basis of "stereotypes and hatred."

All true.

And even Megyn Kelly, who previously wondered if the New Mexico photography case might result in gay couples forcing churches to perform same-sex weddings, called Arizona's law "potentially dangerous":

Thus revealing Kelly to be an ignorant demagogue, as the 14th Amendment applies only to the states and local jurisdictions, not private entities such as churches and other religious institutions. When gay Americans finally realize their comprehensive civil rights, Christian churches will remain at liberty to discriminate against gay couples.

Fox News Has A Nasty Anti-Gay Hangover | Blog | Media Matters for America

Poor FOX news.....I guess the messages from Murdoch keep getting misunderstood....FUNNY

There is a difference between refusing to be imposed
Upon religiously by govt such as forcing or banning gay marriage
When not all citizens of a state agree to THAT marriage policy,

And refusing to recognize equality by imposing on others.

Until issues are resolved by consensus
Both sides continue imposing on each other.

How can anyone expect to enforce Constitutional
Equality while violating this very concept?

All sides of religious issues should mediate
Abd resolve conflicts before writing and passing laws.
Or they are equally in violation of freedom they are trying to defend.

Ummmm...No.

Those attempting to deny others equal protection under the law under the guise of freedom, whether religious or otherwise, do not deserve a place at the table.

Civil rights are not to be compromised away by anyone. The Constitution is not a document of doctrine or belief, but of the rule of law.

Lest you have forgotten it.

The slogan of MediaMatters is the ONLY truth ever coming out of their mouth: "WE watch FOX so you don't have to".

Well, even that is not quite the truth. It should be: We misquote FOX so idiots like MediaMatters readers can feel good about themselves.

Quiet yerself commie!!! Ted Cruz is more American than baseball and hot dogs COMBINED!!!

He's CANADIAN! His family was/is in CANADIAN OIL! Thus the support of the Koch pipeline.
No big deal, Canada is a part of North America. Plus, he plans to renounce his Canadian Citizenship soon.

Canada IS NOT part of the United States of America.

How many years has he been 'planning' to renounce his citizenship? The Canadian is nothing but a Koch plant.

Not yet. With all this trend towards globalization, I would not be surprised if it becomes a 51st state in the future. They already speak our language, and essentially share the same culture.

Cruz is a GOP joke. The Dems would love to see him run.

If MM has an employee continually watching FOX, I feel for them. That employee will have to be rotated out on a continuing basis, otherwise they will fall victim to the Tea Party Brain Rot...(TPBR) The only known remedy is for the victim to watch a daily viewing of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest It could be counted as therapy or a threat.

^^^^^^that's hilarious...

We watch one flew over the cuckoos nest just with the Democrat party and it's followers, they sit and obsess over some news station...notice MM never post about PMSnbc?

MediaMatters is nothing more but leftwing propaganda spreading misinformation people, wake up already
