For those of you who think Bush was a better president than Obama....

Yep Obama caused the housing and debt bubbles.

It's not what caused anything.

No matter where you are going, your only option is to proceed from where you are. The Big 0 campaigned saying that it was the worst economy since the Great Depression. It was no surprise to him unless he is a lying SOB with no integrity and no honor.

That he inherited a bad situation is not in doubt. That he made it worse is not in doubt.

What is in doubt is what can be done to correct it. There is doubt on this because the Big 0 has made no progress and in truth has hampered the recovery at every turn.

If he was a foreign enemy he could not be doing more harm.

I have to ask: WHY? What in the hell makes Obama a lesser president than Bush. Look, Obama definitely isn't perfect, but to claim Bush was a better president is simply ignorant.

It is Bush who is responsible for creating this deficit crisis. The two wars he started and the tax cuts for the rich have been very costly.

So can anyone compare and contrast, in detail, why they think Bush was a better president? I am very curious to know.

I seem to remember the Democrats voting for at least one of the wars....
And Obama extending the Bush tax cuts....
Oh and by the by those Bush tax cuts went to all taxpayers...

but mostly to those who can afford to play in the market.

And yes Obama is mostly a 3rd Bush term.
Glad you agree.

Whatever happened to that bipartisan agreement for mandatory across the board budget cuts?
doesn't repubs control the house?

I personally believe that they should have stopped the government and not let it up again until there was a budget passed by the Senate.

That's just me, though.

wow just wow.

You ARE delusional and not fit to comment on such subjects.

Bush was a republican. To some people the crappyist republican is preferable to the most competent democrat. Simple really.

That makes no sense.

President Bush wasn't crappy. He had some faults, true. Who doesn't? But "crappiest?" Baseless partisan tripe.

And there's nothing about the incumbent that comes close to competent, either.

At least Bush loved his country and the military he was CIC of..

and not just, GENERALLY

First and foremost, Bush could work with the other party when he needed to get things done.

I think both parties are responsible for the "debt crisis", but the real cause is that we want government to do all this stuff and we don't want to pay for it or make someone else pay for it. Propose cutting something, and someone will scream. We can't even cut off corporate welfare like PBS without someone screaming "You want to Kill Big Bird!"

I think Bush and Obama are just managing the decline, but at least Bush managed it better.

What I want is a president who will stop the decline. And that ain't anyone currently running.

For those of you who think Bush was a better president than Obama....

?

What idiot believes that?

Surplus turned into deficit, two failed, illegal wars, and more government does not ‘better’ make.

The small surplus was turned into a deficit? How big was that fall off compared to the falloff from Bush to the Big 0.

There's no way to make this comparison without making your man look like the biggest failure ever elected.

Until Santorum if he is elected.

Your ignorance is laughable. When Clinton was done, we had a budget surplus. There is no disputing that. The economic crisis started when Bush was president. I don't necessarily blame Bush for the economic crisis, but it would be absolutely ludicrous to blame Clinton for it.

Actually, there is a LOT of disputing that.

We didn't have a "surplus", we had a situation where for a breif moment, payments into the Social Security and Medicare Trust funds were exceeding deficits into the "General Fund" that powers everything else. That wasn't going to last because of our aging population, and the fact that the stock market had already peaked and was declining.

Clinton certainly does deserve a lot of the blame for the 2001 recession and laid the roots of the 2008 recession.

He's the one who signed the ridiculous trade treaties that made it easier for big companies to offshore jobs. ALL of our problems are linked to that. But the man never saw a trade treaty he didn't love.

Regardless of whether Bush was a "better" President, Bush is certainly a better MAN.

Barack Obama is a former half-term U.S. Senator who has never held a "working class" job, had no administrative experience (such as serving as the governor of a state), and counts among his "mentors" a racist pastor, a "retired" domestic terrorist, and a racist professor.

Anybody care to compare Bush's resume' to Obama's "weightless" resume'? Let me guess, the leftists will be slobbering all over themselves about Bush's bout with alcohol abuse, and some other run-of-the-mill HUMAN FLAWS.

No comparison between Bush and Obama as MEN. I wouldn't let Obama walk my dog, or wash my car. He's a liar, a cheat, and a phoney.

Bush sucked most because of Cheney and Rummy. By the time he finally broke away from their influence we were in two miserable wars and our foreign policy was wreckage. The sheer irresponsibility of allowing those two anywhere near the levers of power is criminal negligence.

Partisans always think their guy is the best there are just as many who think Obama can do no wrong as there are who think the same about Bush. I don't think Bush was a great President nor do I feel he is the worst I have not found Obama to be overly impressive to this point but who knows he could get better or worse time will tell.

Get worse? That would take some doing.

Oh believe me, with Obama in office, it has barely begun to get bad. Wait till the summer vioilence.

It is Bush who is responsible for creating this deficit crisis. Liar. It's been building for decades and obama piled it far higher in 3 than he did in 8.
