Its true. They will swarm over whoever is sitting as Speaker. President Obama has a teflon resistance to personal attacks and Pelosi has served as designated whipping subject.

Still the same, she should go. She has been marginally effective in the role of Speaker and does not even have strong support within the party. Any candidate who has posed for a picture with Pelosi will pay the price in the next election.

For the good of the party? She actively and accurately puts forth the Party line in every thing she does. The only thing bad about this for Democrats is that she is exposing the real agenda to glare of bright lights.

Is accurately defining the Democrat agenda bad for the Democratic Party?

In Pelosi's case it is. She has been ineffective in controlling the House, she creates more problems than she solves and is a divisive force.

I have no doub't Pelosi will be reelected in 2010. The problem is she will assist in preventing other Democrats from being elected. Her negative image with most Americans will be used to pair her with any candidate who ever had the misfortune of having his picture taken with her.

She is poison right now. In the next session of Congress she should step down as Speaker and allow a more effective Democrat to hold the seat
