Florida House prices dropping as people desperate to sell.

I once asked a banker what he thought about climate change. He said that the first signs that climate change is real is when insurance companies start raising rates. He said insurance companies don’t play politics and it is all about the bottom line. But that is only the beginning IMO. Once insurance rates start rising, you may soon see the end of 20 and 30 year mortgages which is being discussed in some circles. Once banks stop giving out mortgages, your property will lose nearly all its value. As it stands now high insurance rates will start affecting home values. If you live in Florida you can deny anthropogenic climate change all you want, but you can pay to combat it now or have your descendants pay a much higher price later. It’s your choice.
They are raising insurance rates here in Florida because all these stupid smelly obnoxious Yankees are moving here and building houses in areas that are flood prone during a hurricane. Houses and condos are being built where they never should be built.

It is the same all over the Gulf Coast and Atlantic seaboard.

Climate change is real. It is a force of Nature. However, man made climate change is scam.

Gay Barry knew it when he bought that mansion just barely above sea level on Martha's Vineyard. That idiotic scammer Al Gore also owns a mansion on the seacoast. By the way, just for reference. Gore owns three mansion that have the carbon footprint of a small American town. That doesn't even include his private jets. He knows it is a scam just like Gay Barry.

According to the article, 202,000 homeowners are described as “motivated” to sell their homes. Motivated means they really need to sell it. And they need to sell it fast.

There are more “Motivated” sellers in Florida than any other state. And it is not surprising. Insurance costs have skyrocketed. Rising more than 100% in the last couple years. And expected to continue rising.

In response to this trend DeSantis has of course spent most of his time campaigning for President, and targeting homosexuals and their supporters. One must focus on what is really important.
Unfortunately Florida has been hit with costly storms at a higher rate than other states and that will affect property insurance. Not much anybody can do about that. And Florida has the highest number of middle income retirees in the country and as that population continues to age, more and more will choose to downsize or move closer to family or to group living facilities. Most especially since Floridians have experienced some of the highest appreciation in property values and it is always tempting to cash in when that happens.

Despite the article title, I don't think the situation is any cause for alarm in Florida or anywhere else.

Speaking of my uncle. He made $850,000 on his Florida home but now he can't afford to insure it. He had to sell his rental property. So no more rent but he is selling that for $700,000. He's 94 she's in her 80's and sickly frail, so they'll be okay.

But, I wanted to point out that the reason he has to sell the rental property is the thousands and thousands of dollars they've had to pay for my aunt. They have medicare but for some reason, her procedures cost him $10K at a time. So medical costs are eating up their life savings.

Is ron pro Medicare? He better be. Next to Cali Florida takes the most medicare $. Lots of seniors. But seniors can't afford to live in Florida. Not if they moved there 20 years ago or more. Prices have gone way up. WAY up.
Florida is susceptible to wild price swings in many areas depending on the market. Many people are retirees or receive checks from pensions and social security. Still, it is my opinion that this is the time to reinforce physical infrastructure and improve building codes and where structures can be built and if upgraded infrastructure is needed for them to void water and wind damage in any way. Highways and rail lines along with electrical service needs it also. And they have done a lot on that.

/——/ It’s the insurance rates. The other stuff about DeSantis campaigning is moot.

So you dumb fucking assholes want to regulate homeowners but you refuse to regulate politicians.

Stupid is as stupid does.
Are ya stupid, SHitLips? I want term limits, ethics enforcement, complete divestment, and accountability.

You want to elect a fascist dictator, regardless of his crimes, because he hates the same people you do.

Three white refugee families from Florida arrive the last two weeks.

They tell horror stories of how Magatrudia is changing things there.

That isn't why the premiums are increasing so much, here.

But thanks for sharing what you learned in week one of insurance 101.

It's the natural disasters and rising sea level.
Inflation triple their value.

If you would stop turning the dollar into toilet paper that would be nice

I handle insurance for more square footage of buildings than you can imagine kid.

The problem isn't red states.....but all of the blue states in the US.

If you encourage crime, chaos, and destruction.......of course insurance rates are going to go up. They have to jack up their prices or the insurance companies can't stay in business.

This is why you folks want to raise the costs of everything. You claim you're helping the poor when in fact you're fucking the poor and making everyone equally poor.
Yet the costs are higher in Florida.

Neato

Insurance rates rise everywhere, when property values increase.

They are far higher than the national average in florida chiefly because of natural disasters.
Partly so. A homeowner that owns a home that doubled in valued should expect an increase in rate to match the insurance companies risk to insure it. Not rocket science.

When cost to build or rebuild go up 2X (labor, materials, land, utilities) Insurance goes up. Not Rocket Science. But to dishonest spinning Stain. Its Obidenflation. Gas near $4 again. $5 bread, $5 Frosted Flakes. Lib sucketh.

my home insurance up 45% with a letter attached explaining just that. //

Insurance rates don't really have borders. Insurance companies usually operate in several states. Not to mention the fact that Democrats have been pumping people into Florida and blue cities for a very long time. Biden paid for 300 thousand Cubans to fly into the US, and thousands of Haitians are heading for Florida as we speak.

Several countries took the opportunity to dump all their convicts and criminals into the US to make them our problem.

Then there's all of these Soros DAs and judges that refuse to enforce the law......so of course everyone's insurance is going to go up.
