The ATF was out of control back during George H. Bush's term when they decided to rewrite the Constitution at Ruby Ridge. The ATF came back with a bigger boondoggle when they decided to invade Waco, Tx with tanks and attack helicopters during Clinton's administration. In a memo just released by Sen. Chuck Grassley, the Iowa senator reveals that Holder also didn't apologize to former Attorney General Michael Mukasey for dragging him into the Fast & Furious scandal that is headed for a major legal clash and likely contempt of Congress charge against Holder.

According to Grassley's memo, Justice said that Holder "inadvertently" made the charge against Mukasey in a hearing.

Law enforcement, even federal law enforcement doesn't work in a vacuum. The federal government should have taken a hard look at the ATF twenty years ago but it's never too late to do something about a clearly out of control powerful police agency. A Border Patrol Agent was murdered 18 months ago. Now is the time to investigate the whole damned nest of criminals responsible for the murder.
