Voting in person defeats most of these issues because a physical person has to be there. Actually scraping up bogus people to go in a voting site is much less practical that in bulk mail in fraud.
Mail-in is pretty much intentionally designed to set up all these problems on purpose and by design
1 Voter roll violations
2 Ballot tampering
3 En masse ballot collection (mules) and destroying ballots for the other side and passing ballots for the intended winner (ballot envelopes can be "looked through" with a bright light to see the vote inside, Trump ballots are destroyed)
4 Requesting mail in ballots for invalid roll entries (people that have moved or died), then voting those ballots for the intended winner
5 Mail in ballots that lack matching written request on record (required in state of Wisconsin)
In person voting with a valid ID blocks nearly all this.
