Virginia School District To Give Students One Day Off Per Year For 'Civic Engagement'

I am a Conservative and am open to exploring excused absences for political activism. This means I would support a student getting excused from class to go support or participate in a rally for climate change policy, Pro-choice, strict gun control, and other liberal policies. Conversely, I would expect a liberal school administrator to grant the same excused absence for student(s) who wish to attend a Tea Party 2nd Amendment Rights, or Pro-Life Rally without prejudice or obstruction simply because the administrator opposes the cause. Will it work?

In my day, the only way you could get out of class was to smoke in the parking lot...
