Power of America reached the peak in the year 2000 before 9.11 event in 2001. The key basis of powerful America is absorbing global wisdom but global Internet invented by America is more conducive to China rather than America to absorb global wisdom. Therefore, America will gradually decline and the powers on the earth will continue spreading to multipolarity.

Huge population was and is the biggest advantage for China to surpass the richer countries such as Japan, UK and Germany in the aspect of comprehensive national power. And China will continue rising and be able to counterbalance America. Then the huge population will become instead the biggest disadvantage for China to continue rising. China has the largest quantity of high-density but low-quality high buildings in the world but has not any city like American Silicon Valley where is made up of low-density but high-quality buildings. It will take several decades for China to reduce so many redundant populations to break away from low-quality of crowded society so that it's impossible for China to surpass America and lead the world.

Only Europe has potential to surpass America and lead the world. Greece, Rome, Spain, Netherlands and UK were successively the greatest country in the world. The biggest characteristic of America relative to Europe country is "bigger" rather than "more advanced". Some Europe country that is smaller, weaker and more flexible than America will likely guide the world into new social model, just like Netherlands in the 16th century guided the world into capitalist society. Thus "Make Europe Great Again" will be more persuasive than "Make America Great Again".

But guiding the world will be not enough for any single Europe country to surpass America and lead the world. America is like the lion king, China is like the fattest elephant, India is like the second fattest elephant, Japan is like an alone wolf, Russia is like a remote polar bear and Europe is like a pack of non-united wolves. Only united wolves can surpass the lion king so political integration will be the final result of Europe, even if Eurozone and EU will briefly disintegrate and decline. Converging pressures from China and USA will stimulate declining and divisive Europe to become Europe Federation. America is like a kind of strong acid. China is like a kind of weak base but will gradually be like a strong base to counterbalance America. The Europe Federation will be like the neutral water and represent universal values of the world to lead the world again.

But "America" doesn't give a shit whether the World sees it as #1. Everyone else THINKS we do (and we are), but "we" couldn't care less.

No masses of people are yearning to go and live in China. No one is running out any buying tickets to Chinese films, or playing Chinese pop music on their personal devices. No one is emulating Chinese fashions (which copy American fashions).

When there is a crisis in the world - a war breaks out or something comparable - where does the whole world look first for a reaction? China? "Europe"? Brazil?

And Europe? First of all, there is no "Europe." Europe is made up of vastly different populations and cultures. No one goes to live or even vacation in "Europe." They go to Italy, France, Germany, Spain, or England. And these experiences are quite different from one another.

And if you hadn't noticed, "Europe" is going down the shitter. It has been voluntarily afflicted with the cancer known as "multi-culturalism," which posits that no one culture is any better than any other, and all cultures can live side by side in peace, with neither one being degraded due to the presence of the other. 50 years from now - maybe sooner - the countries that we love in Europe will be unrecognizable, populated by majority brown people with no respect for and little connection with the cultures that they have supplanted.

Doubtless, America is in decline. It is simply a matter of course. You are wrong in your assertion that the apex of American power was in 2000. America dominated the world in no uncertain terms as the "last man standing" following WW2. America experienced decline but was reinvigorated by Reagan and the fall of the USSR. The Bush 2 presidency and Obama contributed to the decline of the US, but much like Reagan after years of failed leadership, Trump offers hope of a resurgence of American power.

It remains to be seen.

We have always been on average been within 2.0 to 2.6 range.
It's very easy to look that up at the gov. website.
