Effort To Kill The Iran Deal Dies In The Senate

The two-month Republican-led effort to kill the Iranian nuclear accord in Congress failed Thursday, after 42 Democrats filibustered a procedural vote related to the nuclear deal.

“Today’s outcome was clear, decisive, and final,” said Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.). “There’s now no doubt that the United States Congress will allow this deal to go forward.”

The procedural measure, which required 60 votes to pass, would have allowed the Senate to then cast a separate vote against the nuclear deal and rescind the president’s ability to waive some sanctions against Iran. That second vote, known as a resolution of disapproval, would have required only a simple majority to pass -- meaning that it could have succeeded even with little support from Democrats.

The minority Democratic Party pushed for a 60-vote threshold on the resolution of disapproval so that the resolution would not be able to move forward without broad bipartisan support. When Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) rejected the request, the Democrats moved to block the vote from occurring.

So, that was that.

FYI.

Discuss. Was that that?

And by "right" you mean Israel, right?

Well, IF the Republicans EVER found just ONE guy with BALLS and the power to enact this...the sum total of it is that Obama has violated the law. He has violated the terms of the ill-fated Corker-Cardin Bill because in the Corker-Cardin Bill is a requirement that Obama share the details, all the details of the Iranian nuclear deal with Congress by July 19th. Obama hasn't done it, and it has to do with the treaty clause, but it also relates to the fact that the sanctions, which the Republicans said, "We can't do anything about it, was explained by Ted Cruz yesterday on the steps of the capitol! The money, $150 BILLIOn of it, is tied up in banks, and IF you hold those individual bank RESPONSIBLE for breaking the law, if releasing the money from an Obuma ILLEGAL order, they are libel, and can be sued along with their chief operating officers.

Well, it is a treaty if you wanted to deal with it, and stand up for your rights, Separation of Power, congressional power, you could demand that he treat it as a treaty if you wanted to make a fight of it. But they don't want to make a fight of anything. THEY ARE AFRAID OF THAT BLACK MAN! So the alternative was, "Hey, look, if you don't want to make a fight of it, all you gotta do is deny Obama the right to lift sanctions 'cause he hasn't followed the law, it's right there in the Corker-Cardin Bill. He has to make everything well known, BY THAT LAW!

If Israel attacks preemptively, they will own it. No one else.
What do you think America would do if some country vowed to "wipe us off the face of the planet?"

Leftists are such cowards... they really think if you just give in to these Islamic nutbags, they'll leave us alone. They're laughing at our stupidity.
