Ebola Nurse Kaci Hickox Works For CDC…Her Lawyer Is A White House Visitor

Then the smoking laws should be eliminated?

What are you talking about?
Smoking bans, where I live you cannot smoke in any commercial establishment. Even if its private. That's a law against a legal thing.

You misunderstood me. There is no constitutional right to smoke. So what are you talking about?

There is no constitutional right to spread a deadly disease amongst the surrounding population.
since she doesn't have the disease, how is she going to spread it?

Until her 21 days are up, we won't know until then, shall we?

she's not contagious to anyone until she has a high fever, right???

She can risk becoming contagious at any point during her quarantine. Given that she arrived in Newark last Friday, you won't know anything until either she manifests or reaches the 22nd day without any symptoms manifesting. Even then you risk the symptoms showing up anyhow, because the disease can remain dormant for more than 21 days. That time frame does not guarantee she won't show signs. Under more controlled circumstances, she would be quarantined until health officials could determine with certainty that she does not have the disease.

Remember that bike ride she took? I guarantee you she broke a sweat. If she already has the virus in her, it can be transferred to anyone who touches her equipment via her sweat. Now weigh the chances. There's a 50% chance she doesn't have it. There's a 50% chance she does. Would you prefer to risk the latter, miss?

We should not be taking gambles with the health and safety of other Americans. This isn't a game of Risk, this is reality.

I sincerely hope she doesn't have Ebola.

But she seems awfully flippant about this.

Apparently she has lots of compassion for the Africans, and none for her fellow Americans. She's not willing to wait a few weeks to be certain?

I find that odd.....

if she is not running a high fever, then her sweat is not contagious either....

And I don't agree with all doctors and nurses being in a strict quarantine for 21 days or held captive for 21 days... a light quarantine, where you can go out, as long as you stay away from crowds and public transportation etc..... like her bike ride today was perfectly fine...she purposely did not go in to town and she avoided people........

just seems screwy that texas allowed a nurse that came in direct contact with Duncan, without protection or proper protection on, when Duncan was infectious, could go out and about and fly to another State and back...while the nurses and doctors with Doctors without borders will be held captive, without warrant, without a court order....seems like she and the other Doctors coming home, rights have not been considered in this decision by certain States, including Maine....

Decisions should not be made on false information, they should be sound and based on facts and science when it involves this, and taking away someones rights to travel freely...

I do think we need to come up with some kind of isolation policy for the doctors without Borders people, but they should be part of the process of deciding what that should be, along with other doctors and Scientists and this should not be left up to politicians to decide on their own since they know NOTHING about the disease.

TL;DR

I will address the very first sentence though:

She can already have the virus inside of her. Even if it is dormant, it can be spread through unwitting contact with her sweat. Just because she doesn't show symptoms doesn't mean the virus can't be transmitted. You have a lot to learn about virus latency.

As for it's incubation period, it can take anywhere between 1 and 42 days for symptoms to appear. Read up:

It is a lie that a carrier of Ebola remains non contagious before symptoms appear. Before symptoms do appear, the virus is already reproducing, meaning the virus can still be transmitted during the latent/incubation period, or before symptoms appear. Stop believing everything the CDC tells you.

What does the virus 'shedding' mean?

i should have been more clear there is several meanings to viral shedding

in this case from one part of the body into another part of the body

shedding also refers to a host cell that has been exhausted and the progeny travel to another cell

shedding as well refers to the virus leaving the body into the environment

I found this from the same e-MED link of yours templar....

How Is Ebola Transmitted?
Transmission of Ebola occurs through direct contact with an infected person or his or her body fluids (such as blood or secretions). This occurs most often during the late stages of an infection.

more then likely but not necessarily

She essentially wants the freedom to cry FIRE in a crowded movie theater.
Actually, I think she knows a lot more about this than we do, she is a specialist, with a 2 year post graduate program on epidemiology and she knows what she faced in Africa and how careful she was when there, by not coming in contact with anyone with the disease, without being suited up, and we don't know how well she protected herself while there, and she is insensitive to the fact that we are ignorant on the topic...however, her motive and cause, are good....for ALL CITIZENS.... our government should NOT be able to hold captive these Doctors Without borders workers, when they come home, without science based facts, and giving them no rights to even defend themselves from these actions... like a court order to hold them in quarantine, giving SOUND SCIENTIFIC REASON, as to why they are being held captive....

If we let our gvt scare us in to letting them do this for ebola, we are opening the door for our gvt to be able to do this in ANY SITUATION AT ALL, in the future, IF WE DON'T DEMAND accountability of our government for arbitrarily taking our rights away....

She lives here in Maine and I wish I could say she came from here, but I think because she is a TEXAN, born and bread, (and a redhead), she's a bigger than life, small bundle of dynamite, (in a good way). She won't be bullied....

yes, like I said, this comes off as insensitive to our ignorance and fears...

But all of those volunteers of Doctors, Pharmacists, and Nurses with Doctors without Borders...NEED TO KNOW what is going to happen to them when they arrive home and what their government is going to do to them or require from them. And it all needs to be Science based....with a procedure that protects us citizens AND protects the individual rights of our Doctors and Nurses.
