(Reuters) - U.S. President George W. Bush has apologised to Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and promised prosecution of a U.S. soldier accused of using a copy of the Koran for target practice, Iraq said on Tuesday.

Bush apologised in a telephone call on Monday with Maliki, who told him the incident had humiliated and angered Iraq's largely Muslim population, the cabinet said in a statement.

"The American president apologised on behalf of the United States ... promising to present the soldier to the courts," it said.

Bush calls them. Obama goes in front of the cameras and acts like it's the worst act of Human Rights violation he's ever witnessed. He has his Generals go in front of the camera and act like they're ready to shoot the perpetrator. Democraps start wailing like somebody took away their entitlement programs, or wouldn't pay for their rubbers.

The violence didn't stop in Iraq...several American service people still lost their lives the week Bush made his apology. And the war continued for quite some time after that.
