While the DOJ’s statement of interest does not mean that it is taking an official stance on the merits of the case, it does mean that the department will monitor the situation from afar with broad authority.

You have college faculty and local law enforcement tacitly colluding with fascist street thugs to suppress the Freedom of Speech of American citizens.
That is exactly the type of case where the Federal Government should investigate.
Really, this move should have been done years ago, by now we should be at the point of forcing Berkeley and it's fellow lib colleges to respect the rights of it's students and their invited guests.
But better late than never.
