He used trump against Ukraine.

Putin put a lot of things in place while trump was in power mainly getting closer to China... US used to have better relationship with China than Russia did... Might not get on but China knew where the money was coming from... Trump took his eye off the ball and gave China the power to not be under US thumb... They went and secured oil and gas from Russia...

Putin is also doing this because he feels his base is threatened internally... Putin needs nationalistic fear to keep a comfortable grip on power.. Putin through his state TV makes NATO and EU as the bad guys, the US are very much the bad guys and Tucker Carlson & Co are fighting those bad guys... Yes, Russia the Enemy, uses Tucker Carlson on Russian State TV... Tucker & Co are considered heroes and pushed extensively...

This is the problem the Right Wing seems to have, they think it is all about America... Other have agendas, actual smart Americans know that and prior to the gross tribalism in US the US was the smartest players in the room... Facts are Putin started this because he need to get his people in line and retain power... He will keep doing it until we find a way to stop him... Honestly getting European NATO to do something militarily has never been easy, they have all got different agendas but I think Putin might have overplayed the hand this time... EU could let this go for a few weeks wen there reliance on Russian Gas goes down and then have a quick war...
War with Russian would be quick... They haven't the technology to fight a war with the west... The main issue EU got is Russian Oil and Gas, the EU economy is reliant on it..
