Demonstrate that you are productive, self-accountable citizen that after due effort of your own output needs temporary assistance with things to make your children more educated or healthier and I am all for helping with essentials.
Our system is being gamed in every aspect and the give a damn of working stiffs like me is pret' near give out.
I'd like to see ONE of these RWers produce some numbers of the people that are actually "gaming the system."There are folks with bona fide disabilities that don't work and should receive social safety net support if needed.
Then there are those who game the system and don't work and demand entitlment of such sustenance..
The Liberal refusal to make a separation / distinction between the two and take steps to cull them from the ranks means the ones who truly need it receive less benefit and little opportunity for meaningful reform.
I dont think liberals refuse You have to understand these people are LYING to gain things from the system. At least the ones who could work. Those people deserve nothing for abusing the system set in place to help others.

when you say Poor you are including those folks that work 12 hours a day every day of the week and still earn only 7 bucks an hour and get no entitlements...so I would say that some folks earn it...entitlements run out after a certain period..then they have to work...we are talking about working poor earning their income not entitlements by the way with the welfare reforms that went through under Clinton very few people get away without working unless they are truly disabled.

You made a claim that is apparently not true. I have no issue with you doing with your earnings what you please. You obviously don't "need every penny" if you can afford to spend $60 on ONE video game that requires a console which costs at least $200.

Ok, I must spell it out for those who cannot see past their nose. I do not know the ethnenticity of Plasmaball but he is out there shoveling concrete(one of the jobs that are, many times, pointed out to be reserved for illegal aliens as American won't do it) and someone has the audacity to tell him he has spend 26,000 pennies for a game and therefore does not need all that he works so hard to make. This insinuates that he should not persue anything to please himself until he makes a 'suitable' wage. This is tyrannical aristocracy at its best.

The only people who work 12 hours a day are those who don't qualify for entitlements. They're generally single white males and they have no other option but to work 60 hours a week, because if they didn't they wouldn't be able to eat or put a roof over their head.

That's about right.
If he is getting food stamps.... Then he could afford to lose $260 less of that assistance.
Having the assistance... afforded him the game and console... ie.. the tax payers paid for his lifestyle.
I am saying... an Xbox... is a desire, a want.... not a NEED. You don't NEED an Xbox to survive. You cant eat it...you baby cant eat it... it wont pay the rent or power bill.
It is a luxury. And an expensive one at that.
