Did Obama Watch While They Fought for their Lives?

I don't know if he watched in real time. I'm sure thats one of the things we won't know unless someone in the WH leaks it.

He certainly knew about it. As POTUS he's aprised of all thats going on.

If he had done something about it those 4 men would still be alive. Gen Ham would still be in command as would the Admiral.

The fact that those two got relieved shortly after Benghazi speaks volumes to me. They apparantly were not going to "stand down" and lost their jobs.

Speculation?? You bet. But sounds like its right on the money to me. Common sense 101.

The most visible and forthcoming Administration in history??

What makes you think there are videos of Benghazi? You DO realize it was an outpost of the main embassy, right? I doubt that almost ANY embassy that we have has direct video feeds of the whole complex that goes to the White House.

There's an ongoing investigation. You Republicans can call until you're blue in the face which you already seem to be. There are things we know and things people like you makie up. You're not pushing anyone into anything in your attempt to politicize this tragedy.

Carry on though, it seems to give you hope for a Republican win here.

Yeah... We got it. The new definition of cover-up is called "an ongoing investigation". Perhaps Obama might have actually chosen to do an investigation before lying to the American people by claiming the attacks were caused by a video... It's hard to get that Kool-Aid stain off of your forked tongue isn't it?

The way I see it, if Obama claims the credit - like when SEAL Team 6 got OBL, then he can carry the can for the death of 4 remarkable Americans.

Time for change in the White House, I hope.

I agree he should be consistent.

He should honor the commitment of the Navy Seals in putting duty to Constitution, country and defense above all (and in this case, above disobeying orders to stand down that would have contradicted their oath). He should ask Americans to follow that example in doing what is best for the country, and not his example of putting party or politics above Constitutional duties of govt. Especially since Obama asked all Americans to do "one thing to help a Vet".

Republicans, y'all still aren't even near the levels of stupid you reached with Fast & Furious. Keep trying.

Hey don't leave me out. I'm NOT a "Republican," but I agree this issue should be taken seriously and not skirted to avoid bringing up terrorism. I understand, the strategy may be not to react or stir up more terrorism; but more defense was definitely needed, and it is failure on the part of military commanding officers to neglect to respond during the 7 hours.

(Is it true that a pipe bomb had been thrown prior to this, in order to "test" the reaction of the U.S. And the White House was advised they were being tested, the aggression was getting worse, and they needed reinforcement because the test was a precursor to a larger scale attack. If so many people jumped on the 9/11 bandwagon, as being known in advance with prior warnings, then where are those people now to jump on this issue?)

I'm a Democrat who volunteers in a National Historic district of Freed Slave churches.
I help a predominantly Democrat community who has been struggling for YEARS to get help to save the historic landmarks of African American, Civil Rights, and Military History.

We get no help either! Putting "politics" before National History and security has to stop!!!
If this issue brings that out in public light, maybe those 4 heroes did not die in vain. Maybe they died so we could learn the value of our democratic freedoms we are taking for granted.

Seems Sandy has taken hold of the narrative. That doesn't mean this will go away, it won't. If for no other reason than the vets are on it.

Whether or not Obama wins by a whisker, the truth will come out. If it's as bad as it looks and he wins, he'll be impeached. If not, we'll see how bad it hits.

If Romney wins, we'll see House/Senate investigations, but no charges. Ford pardoned Nixon, cost him his own term, but save the country a lot of angst.

Leading from behind: Benghazi attack suspect in custody but off-limits to American investigators

By: John Hayward Follow @@Doc_0

Fox News reports that two suspected participants in the September 11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya have been taken into custody. One of them, a Tunisian named Ali Ani al Harzi, has been identified based on video recorded during the attack.

Unfortunately, al Harzi is in Tunisian custody after being detained at a Turkish airport, and “U.S. interrogators so far have not had access to him, much to the frustration of American authorities.”

John McCain's presidential campaign Tuesday accused the Los Angeles Times of "intentionally suppressing" a videotape it obtained of a 2003 banquet where then-state Sen. Barack Obama spoke of his friendship with Rashid Khalidi, a leading Palestinian scholar and activist.

The Times first reported on the videotape in an April 2008 story about Obama's ties with Palestinians and Jews as he navigated the politics of Chicago. The report included a detailed description of the tape, but the newspaper did not make the video public.

"A major news organization is intentionally suppressing information that could provide a clearer link between Barack Obama and Rashid Khalidi," said McCain campaign spokesman Michael Goldfarb. " . . . The election is one week away, and it's unfortunate that the press so obviously favors Barack Obama that this campaign must publicly request that the Los Angeles Times do its job -- make information public."

The Times on Tuesday issued a statement about its decision not to post the tape.

"The Los Angeles Times did not publish the videotape because it was provided to us by a confidential source who did so on the condition that we not release it," said the newspaper's editor, Russ Stanton. "The Times keeps its promises to sources."

Jamie Gold, the newspaper's readers' representative, said in a statement: "More than six months ago the Los Angeles Times published a detailed account of the events shown on the videotape. The Times is not suppressing anything. Just the opposite -- the L.A. Times brought the matter to light."

The original article said that Obama's friendships with Palestinian Americans in Chicago and his presence at Palestinian community events had led some to think he was sympathetic to the Palestinian viewpoint on Middle East politics. Obama publicly expresses a pro-Israel viewpoint that pleases many Jewish leaders.

In reporting on Obama's presence at the dinner for Khalidi, the article noted that some speakers expressed anger at Israel and at U.S. foreign policy, but that Obama in his comments called for finding common ground.

It said that Khalidi in the 1970s often spoke to reporters on behalf of the Palestine Liberation Organization. Khalidi later lived near Obama while teaching at the University of Chicago. He is now a professor of Arab studies at Columbia University in New York.

Anyone notice some issues in his administration following this from 2008? Anyone?

US ‘too slow’ to act as drone’s cam captured Libya horror

The United States had an unmanned Predator drone over its consulate in Benghazi during the attack that slaughtered four Americans — which should have led to a quicker military response, it was revealed yesterday.

“They stood, and they watched, and our people died,” former CIA commander Gary Berntsen told CBS News.

The network reported that the drone and other reconnaissance aircraft observed the final hours of the hours-long siege on Sept. 11 — obtaining information that should have spurred swift action.

But as Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three colleagues were killed by terrorists armed with AK-47s and rocket-propelled grenade launchers, Defense Department officials were too slow to send in the troops, Berntsen said

Before the invasion of Iraq, Christian population was around 1.4 million of the total population and the community had enjoyed all kinds of support and patronage during Saddam’s regime which dwindled to around one hundred forty thousand at the time of the withdrawal of the Allied forces. Did they just vanish? Its a million dollar question.

Legacy of US Iraq

Republicans are such a disgrace using American deaths to try to "score points" against the president. And look at the blood on the hands of American Republicans. Did Bush watch? Did Republicans "enjoy" what they did? Was it as good for them as it was for the Iraqi radical Muslims? BUSH JUST STOOD BY AND FUCKING WATCHED!
