Democrats in trouble for 2010, Rove article in Wall Street Journal.

Why do you think that the Republicans lost the house and the senate? It's because they abandoned the conservatives that are the base of thier party. I am a fiscal conservative, I don't like big government or the insane spending that goes with it. I don't give a rat's ass who is doing it, Republican or Democrat. I am proud to tell you that I have attended two tea parties and will be attending more in the future.

All right, Maple. Maybe we can have a real conversation. I'd really like to. Tell me, don't the tea bagger folks hate the traditional Republicans, like Newt, and what they stand for?? And the traditional GOP hates the tea baggers back?? That's my understanding anyway.

If that's the case, I don't get it. Aren't the tea baggers all Republicans?? And don't all of the tea baggers vote Republican?? If that's not the case, what party do the tea baggers vote for and with?? It sure ain't gonna be the Dems!!! It's very confusing to me. Thanks for your input.

If you are trying to engage in a discussion, it would help to refer to the protestors correctly - TEA Partyers - not tea baggers. And, generally speaking, they don't 'hate' anyone - they just love the Constitution. Not a bad thing to love - it's the document that founded our nation.... you might want to read it sometime. It's an impressive, short, document - unlike the crap that our congresscritters produce these days.

Well, I suggest that maybe you watch the tea parties, read the signs, and listen to the interviews. These people have hats with all these teabags hanging in their eyes and they are angry and hateful. That's what I see and hear.

To me, they are just a bunch of crazy attention seekers. Every question they were asked by reporters completely stumped them. They were totally ignorant of the issues. I don't think the term "tea baggers" would insult this bunch.

I've read the constitution in school. It's not something that I sit around and read now. What does the constitution have to do with what these people are doing?? I can't imagine!!!!

Obviously the interviews you watched were chosen for their content. Probably was on MSNBC. And they were playing to their audience.

Personally,i'm not big on either party. The Republicans are however making some changes and that's encouraging. It will take more time but the Republicans are slowly but surely getting back to their true Conservative values. They're getting there but they do still have a ways to go.

Having seen your postings for a number of years now, first on the MSNBC boards and now here, I know this to be completely false.

You have been a staunch supporter of just about every member of the Republican party and an ardent critic of everything non-Republican for as long as you've been posting.

Most libs say that, but those same libs would cut off their apendages to have him working on their side...

Probably one of the few things we agree on. When Rove was sucessful any politician would have had to be insane to turn down help from him.

I.

I disagree. What races did Rove 'win' for a candidate that really needed his 'expertise'?

I am an Independent/Conservative who currently leans Republican. I do have a lot of problems with the current Republican Party but i also see some positive changes happening. The changes have been very slow in coming but they are beginning to happen. Much more needs to be done though. It will take time.

Leans??? I hate to tell you this, but you fell in a long time ago!!!! You are no longer leaning.:lol::lol:

I heard what they said into the microphones and I was able to read the signs. And I could even see the teabags hanging in their faces. :disbelief:

LOL! ROFL!

See now liboc, people like you are the reason why, when other conservative-types claim to be "Independent", no-one believes them.

You, specifically, are a HUGE partisan Republican apologist.

There is no way anyone in any bizarro-reality would ever believe you were anything but a Neo-Con after reading even a small sampling of your posting.

You are the one having a problem. I too am an independent--primarily because I don't want any party "owning" my vote--but I always vote conservatively--that means for conservative democrats whom are conservative too.

I think the republicans have learned a very important lessons. Their base is millions of fiscal conservatives. They abandoned us, that's why they lost the house and the senate. They now see the tea party's gaining in numbers and they know that if they don't support fiscal conservative candidates the party will lose and lose again.

They are not stupid you are seeing this in the house and the senate, they are starting to list billions of dollars in wasteful spending that the democrats are passing and they are getting noticed. I think they have finally figured it out.

I am glad you have read the constitution in school. Did you learn anything? and also do you know why we call them tea party's?? If you have read and studied the constitution as you state you have where in the constitution did it state that everyone has a RIGHT to healthcare and that big government programs should take care of that???

Another question- where in the constitution does it say it's okay for the government to go against the will of the majority of the people?? 51% of the people do not want this health care reform bill that is currently being debated in the senate. Only 41% approves and that number is disipating on a hour by hour basis. What's your answer to that??

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/pub.../healthcare/september_2009/health_care_reform

The Senate worked through the weekend on its version of the national health care bill, with President Obama stopping by for a rare Sunday visit, but for the second week in a row, only 41% of U.S. voters favor the health care plan proposed by the president and congressional Democrats.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 51% oppose the plan. And as has been the case for months, the emotion’s on the sign of the naysayers: 40% Strongly Oppose the plan, while just 23% Strongly favor it.

Support for the president’s health care plan fell to 38%, its lowest ever, just before Thanksgiving. Followed by two weeks at 41%, this marks the lowest extended period of support for the plan yet. With the exception of a few days following nationally televised presidential appeals for the legislation, the number of voters opposed to the plan has always exceeded the number who favor it.

“This suggests that public opinion about the health care plan is hardening,” says Scott Rasmussen, president of Rasmussen Reports. “Despite the fact that most American believe our health care system needs major changes, most are opposed to what Congress is currently doing about it.”

Its been rather obvious that many dems are voting against the wishes of the people that put them in office, they tow the party line because they need the party's money and networks.

Its a toss up on whther this will cost them in an election.

A Tea partier is not ignorant. They are the only ones in this country that are paying attention to what the federal government is doing. They are the true patriots of this country that go out in all kinds of weather, head to every single town hall meeting to stop this run-away socialist government from running away with your dumb-ass future. They are republicans, they are democrats & they are independents from all walks of life. Most have never protested anything in their entire lives--but they're mad as hell now.

Today--if you are just getting out of college looking for your 1st job--you are in debt to the federal government to the tune of $120,000.00 DOLLARS in INTEREST alone on the national debt. For a person hitting 40 years--they are in debt $140,000.00 in INTEREST alone on the national debt. And YOU'RE GOING TO PAY regardless what your income is. These are 6 month ago figures.

So, if you're one of those that are not supporting your local tea party group, it's really YOU that is STUPID.

I don't like receiving confrontational posts. So you know what you can do with your little pop quiz.

The rest of your entire response was just copied from a Rasmussen website. But I will say this. I don't care what Rasmussen says, I don't care about polls, the constitution, you, or the crazy tea baggers. Right now I only care about Americans that are hard working citizens and cannot afford healthcare. Maybe the proposed plan is not perfect, but it's something. It's a start.

And yes, I said hard working Americans. And there are thousands. Ever hear of NAFC??? I doubt it. The National Association of Free Clinics (NAFC) is the primary advocate and supporter of America's free clinics. Through a series of NAFC national partnerships, they offer member clinics opportunities to receive donated medical and dental supplies and equipment or purchase items at a discounted cost.

They provide guidance and training for new and existing Free Clinics. As the national voice for Free Clinics, NAFC has an active role in helping to shape national health care policy and legislation that affect Free Clinics and the people they serve.

National Association of Free Clinics(NAFC)

Did you know that 83% of the people they see are employed??? Not deadbeats like the people that have good coverage are always saying. I pray every single night that the bill for reform is passed. People against it have a hidden agenda, in my opinion. Why don't you read this??

Really?? Well, because of an appeal during his special comment on health care, Keith Olbermann has helped raise $1.2 million for free health care clinics, resulting in new health fairs in Little Rock, Kansas City and New Orleans.

What have the losers on Fox News ever done for anybody except to demonize a lot of decent people?? How much money did they ever help raise for people less fortunate??

The Teabaggers sure are giving the Democrats fits. They drive the moderate Republicans underground and put up loud mouthed Limbaugh clones as their replacements.
