No, if convicted of a crime one can certainly be deported. BUT, simply being charged with a crime, with no trial and no conviction, yes, one has a Constitutional right NOT to be deported. The law that passed is a clear violation of the Fifth Amendment and will not hold up in court, if it even makes it through the Senate and is even signed by Biden.

Not sure what bill you were reading, but the one that passed the house required a conviction to be deported.

Not really sure why there is a need for this law. Happens all the time here in North Carolina, illegal immigrants convicted of drunk driving are routinely deported. And for the most part, they self deport to avoid conviction.

A friend of our family was T boned by a drunk ass illegal. The POS illegal died in the crash and our friend was permanently maimed and spent two months in the hospital undergoing multiple surgeries. The illegal POS had no license, no insurance, no respect for our laws or others on public roads.
