But they look at our obsession for guns and scratch their heads in wonderment

How can the American people put up with so much gun violence? Why would such a great nation stand by and do nothing?

And if you figure in government murder...the murder rate in Europe is far above that in the United States.....since a disarmed population led to the killing of millions of Europeans.....

Again...Puerto Rico has stricter gun laws than the rest of the United States, it is an Island Nation without any border connected to any other state and according to VICE t.v. it has the highest gun murder rate in the world....

More prisons doesn't seem to work. We need to bring jobs and more social programs to those neighborhoods

Also our drug laws are not helping reduce gun violence

Actually, locking up violent gun criminals is the solution...when they are in jail they can't shoot anyone....so when you catch someone using a gun in a crime....or you simply catch a convicted felon in possession of a gun....lock them up for 10-20 years....then you have 20 years of no gun violence from that criminal...that is how you stop gun crime...

Now....we had 3 guys shoot up a park in Chicago....2 of them had previous gun charges, sentenced to 3 years, went to a "boot camp" and were out in 18 months.....and then went and shot up the park, injured a lot of people........

With my plan.....they would still have been in jail....for another 8 years 6 months....

That is how you stop gun violence....and then add in fixing up the social problems that create the gang members....

Look, you have to understand something....do I think our government is going to go nuts like the German government did..no. But....history shows that governments can turn into the German government, it only took 20 years for the German government to do that after a horrible war....and if you look at the Mexican government, you have government officials teaming up with drug cartels and murdering honest, regular people....today...every day. And at the last point......50 years from now, if something catastrophic happens, and part or all of our country turns into Mexico or worse, Germany, it isn't our right to deny those descendants of ours the only means they would have to resist it. We are lucky to live during a time of peaceful government, and government transition, where we can bitch and moan about the NSA and other problems...but it doesn't affect us. But can we say it will always be like that....I say no.....and the only way we can protect future generations from that problem is by passing on our 2nd Amendment protections...

The point.....Europe feels superior to the United States because we have armed citizens......they say our gun murder rate is so high.......but they never look deeply what a disarmed society leads to when the government goes nuts.....like it did in Europe in the 1930s, or Russia in the 1920s or China in the 1940s......and if you add government murder totals to the European murder rate.....the murder rate in Europe is greater than that in the United States...and since the primary reason we have the right to keep and bear arms is to stop European style mass murder...

Sorry....the Germans were disarmed during the 1920s before the nazis showed up...and the rest of Europe was essentially disarmed except for some hunting rifles.......they weren't even close to being as well armed as our people are....and we saw how that turned out.....

Let's try it the other way....where the average citizen is armed and the military has to deal with 90 million armed people...rather than a few people with hunting shotguns....let's see how that works out........

This week, President Obama said it is “heart-breaking” that his administration has not passed more gun control, and he pledged to continue pushing the subject for the rest of his presidency. But at least one Democrat strategist wishes Obama would drop the gun control push already.
The difficulty in dropping the issue, as far as Democrats are concerned, is that it is also being pushed by Democrat surrogates–like Everytown for Gun Safety. And these surrogates are going to keep pushing no matter what Obama does.

According to The Washington Times, strategist Dave “Mudcat” Saunders said talking about gun control is a loser for Democrats:

Every time a Democrat starts talking about guns, they lose numbers because it is the Second Amendment. How many gun owners are there now in America? Look it up.
