This week, President Obama said it is “heart-breaking” that his administration has not passed more gun control, and he pledged to continue pushing the subject for the rest of his presidency. But at least one Democrat strategist wishes Obama would drop the gun control push already.
The difficulty in dropping the issue, as far as Democrats are concerned, is that it is also being pushed by Democrat surrogates–like Everytown for Gun Safety. And these surrogates are going to keep pushing no matter what Obama does.

According to The Washington Times, strategist Dave “Mudcat” Saunders said talking about gun control is a loser for Democrats:

Every time a Democrat starts talking about guns, they lose numbers because it is the Second Amendment. How many gun owners are there now in America? Look it up. There is a bunch of them, and anytime you start talking about guns you are going to take away from your numbers. So there is just less talk about [gun control] now.

Why is it that some people just have no capacity to feel caring or sympathy or empathy?

And who propose laws that wouldn't stop one mass school shooting.....which is the whole point right...to stop shootings in schools......but not one proposal would have stopped one mass shooting...but for some reason would just make it harder for regular people to buy and own guns....the people who won't go and shoot up schools...

So please...sell that crap somewhere else....you guys don't care about people, children killed with guns......you care that people own guns.......the dead kids are just tools for you to use to achieve that end.....

Then you have the good that guns do.....on average guns are used in the United STates to stop or prevent violent criminals attack and save lives 1.6 million times a year....a lot more than they are used for crime...in particular gun murder which in 2013 was only 8,454....mostly by gangs in inner city hell holes, small, multi block areas......

Since most Americans don't have to put up with gun violence, Europeans don't know what they are talking about...considering they only know America from the democrat, gun grabbing press.......

And we do a lot.....criminals can't own guns or carry them......just like in Europe.....

The point.....Europe feels superior to the United States because we have armed citizens......they say our gun murder rate is so high.......but they never look deeply what a disarmed society leads to when the government goes nuts.....like it did in Europe in the 1930s, or Russia in the 1920s or China in the 1940s......and if you add government murder totals to the European murder rate.....the murder rate in Europe is greater than that in the United States...and since the primary reason we have the right to keep and bear arms is to stop European style mass murder...

You guys don't address reality....gun murders in this country are committed primarily by inner city criminals....the rest of the country is safe....and then you want to pass new laws that will fail the way the old laws failed....like background checks, which will be bypassed the same way the old background check is bypassed by criminals, and gun registration, which doesn't work in other countries and wouldn't stop one crime or mass shooting here in the States....and yet you guys push for those two items most of all....

Actually, that isn't a fair presentation of the situation....we do care...but all of the measures meant to stop them have been implemented...except for mental health information in the current criminal background check system....and implementing that runs into problems with HIPPA laws and the fact that gun control activists will abuse any attempt for rational checks on the dangerously mentally ill from getting guns....that and the fact that if you separate gun crime from mentally ill people using guns to kill people, the number just isn't that high......
