Palestinians most challenging fight in this new century will be the upcoming struggle to regain their lost humanity in the eyes of the world.
In a certain way, World War II has never ended.
The ghost of Hitler and Nazi Germany will only be definitely put to rest when its offspring, the jewish racial dictatorship is finally replaced by a secular, democratic state for all the peoples of Palestine.
We live in a world fundamentally shaped by the Second World War. This armed conflict determined most of the geopolitical configurations, socio-political paradigms of the world we live in.
As our fellow poster Tom Sweetnam put it:
True, he (Hitler) certainly created the modern state of Israel. In fact no one else in the past thousand years had the seminal impact on humanity that he did (yet he didn't make Time Magazine's "100 Most Important People of the Past Century" list).
Golda Was Right US Message Board - Political Discussion Forum
Even though the conflict itself ended almost in the middle of the last century and the new way of thinking about the world it created existed only during the last 50 years of the century (and continues to this day), the change in the mindset of humanity it provoked was so dramatic that it can very well be called the 20th century social political paradigm.
Among the geo-polical changes and paradigms WWII established we can point out:
1 - The emergence of America as a global hegemon
2 - The Cold War
3 - The end of european colonialism in Africa and Asia
The last item, the end of european colonialism is directly linked to a new paradigm, a new way to the see the races, groups of human beings.
As a reaction to the Nazi ideology, the notions of white superiority over other races were largely put aside leading to the delegitimization of european colonialism and the american civil rights movements, replicated in other parts of the world.
Western countries were redefined as nations without any racial, ethnic identity and immigration laws were changed allowing massive non-white immigration into the US and Europe.
But the paradigm shift brought forth by WWII that interests us in this discussion is the new "human value" assigned to the two ethno-religious groups presently in conflict in Palestine:
1 - the super-humanization of the jewish people
2 - and the dehumanization of the palestinian people
THE SUPER HUMANIZATION OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE
By "super-humanization" I mean the idea according to which the jewish people, due to their recently acquired status as the "super-victims" of human history, is entitled to a series of special rights and concessions ("free passes") that would never be granted to any other group of human beings in this post-World War II paradigm:
1 - The "right" to destroy Palestine's ethnic composition through mass immigration without the consent of the native people turning them into a minority in the western half of their homeland.
2 - The "right" of this illegitimate group of immigrants (backed by equally illegitimate international "autorization") to destroy the territorial integrity of their homeland by dividing it in two separate political entities with one of them having the "official" ethnic identity of the illegitimate foreigners constituting in and of itself a supremacist state (in the sense that its raison d'etre, its fundamental mission would be to pursue the best interests of the illegitimate immigrants).
3 - The "right" to expel and prevent the return of the native population for 65 years alleging "security" issues motivated by the reaction of the natives to the abuses
described above (their previous violent opposition to the destruction of their homeland's ethnic composition and territorial integrity).
Even though the mindset and approval of the colonization and destruction of Palestine's ethnic composition already existed since the early decades of the 20th century the paradigms of the superhumanization of the jewish people and dehumanization of palestinian arabs were only established as real global paradigms after the conflict.
The super-humanization of the jewish people, is the idea that Jews have a special set of rights that other peoples don't.
The need to find a safe haven for this "super humans" was seen through this post-World War II paradigm as much more important than the rights of the "sub-human" natives.
By virtue of being more "humans" than palestinian arabs, european Jews, without any genetic affiliation to Palestine, have the right to deny palestinians their right to inhabit their homeland.
By virtue of enjoying a special set of rights not shared by any other people, hundreds of thousands of european Jews have come back to Europe in the last 65 centuries
receiving millions of dollars in compensation for lost property from the german government while palestinians trying to return to their villages are imprisioned at best and murdered at worst accused of "infiltration" by those same european jews.
THE DEHUMANIZATION OF THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE
Parallel to the super-humanization of the jewish people the post-World War II world was also marked by the dehumanization of the native population of Palestine.
Dehumanization is the belief that a group of human beings, by virtue of their ethnic-religious affiliation, are entitled to only a fraction of the rights granted to "full human beings".
Due to the fact that the palestinian people is perceived through this paradigm as only partially humans, not entitled to the whole set of human and civil rights that those who are fully humans deserve, the denial of their right to move about their homeland, their confinement in ethnic enclaves, the murder of those palestinians who decide to fight back against the dehumanisation is socially accepted by the majority of the population of the United States and many other parts of the world.
Instead of causing moral revulsion, the obscene spectacle of a jewish supremacist state murdering the native people of Palestine for their attempts to break free from
the gazan ethnic enclave is met with approval by the majority of people in Western countries:

Due to the dehumanization of the palestinian people, to the deeply entrenched feeling that palestinian rights can be discarded, put aside for a "greater good", the poster cannot realise that the palestinians launching rockets are the very same people who should have their rights respected and protected by the government of their homeland, not confined into ethnic enclaves and murdered for reacting to the forced confinement.
Compare Coyote's post with this one, written by someone who finally became aware of the dehumanising paradigm he was brought up with and decided to unequivocally
reject it:

The terrorists are the European Jews who because they were sent to death camps, found it OK to evict people from Palestine. People that had nothing to do with the harm the Germans inlicted on them.
Why don't you grow up and realize that the Palestinians are no more terrorists than the French Resistance attempting to regain their country.

Having rejected the dehumanization of the palestinian people we were all indotrinated to passively accept since birth, Montelatici refuses to blame the victims of jewish supremacism in Palestine like Coyote does.
The most tragic characteristic of social paradigms like these two is that most people are not even aware of them having been brought up with them for all their lives.
Just like a fish that never realizes the presence of water around it, people like Coyote talk about killing Palestinians without even realising the moral depravation of their own words.
It's like a computer program that runs on the background without the user ever noticing it.
Once again, Montelatici said it best (not his exact words but the gist of them):
"Just like when the US army was massacring native americans and confining them in reservations people do not fully understand the moral implications of what's happening.
It takes a century for people to fully comprehend the immorality of what was done in their name."
The 19th century dehumanising paradigm of Manifest Destiny in the US, the idea that America's insatiable appetite for arable land was worth the destruction of the culture and livelihood of a bunch of nomads prevented the american people from firmly opposing that depravity when it could have made a difference.
Similarly, the post-WWII social paradigm through which westerners perceive the jewish and palestinian people prevents them from noticing the obscenity of their own words and also prevents the evolution of alternatives to the denial of the full humanity of the palestinian people inextricably embedded in the two-state illusion (since the palestinian people stubbornly refuses to accept PEACE WITHOUT JUSTICE, refusing to submit to the dehumanization imposed on them by the "international community",constantly pressuring them to renounce to their right to live in their homeland).
The combined effect of these two complementary paradigms, the super-humanization of the jewish people and the dehumanization of the palestinian people, is by far the biggest stumbling block barring the progress of the morally superior one-state solution.
As long as the palestinian people are viewed as only partially humans, deserving only a subset of the rights granted to the jewish people, the denial of their right to move freely in their homeland, their forced confinement to parts of Palestine they're not originally from, the brutal assassination of those who decide to fight back by the israeli war machine, will continue to be perceived as a "just, fair solution" by westerners like Coyote.
It is often said that the IDF is palestinian's greatest foe but in reality the armed forces of Israel can't hold a candle to the paradigm that developed after WWII that portrays them as subhuman.
The biggest challenge of the palestinian people in the XXI century is to make the world understand that despite 6 decades of heavy propaganda and indoctrination they do not represent an existential threat to the jewish people, to make Coyote (ie, the average westerner) realise that they ironically perceive them through the same dehumanising paradigm people used to view Jews in Nazi Germany.

Yeah Jose you pretty much nailed it. Israelis have kept blowing smoke but eventually the truth got out. Sickening, how they're treating the Palestinians.
The opposite is the truth, the dehumanizing and demonizition of Israel is the Palestinian ultimate weapon, as they claim for moral ground and simplicity, pro-Palestinian demonstrations are filled with Israel's flag and blood, cartoons of all sort including children's media is filled with this filth, and even in the thread you can find yourself writing how Israel 'destroyed ' the living and kicking Palestinians for nearly a century..
Netanyahu was the one inventing the very known Israeli phrase- "They're A-F-R-A-I-D!". The phrase was at the time directed at the Israeli media channels, which Netanyahu believed fear the rise of a Right-wing PM, but later on was adopted and used on the Palestinians, concerning the conflict. Especially Hamas and Islamic Jihad
Awesome. Wish I could hit the like button a few times . . . .The Palestinians do, indeed, have a slight Public Relations problem...
