It's black walnut season. Trees are heavy with a bumper crop. Weight of the nuts broke a limb. Cut some spoon blanks out of it...and maybe a cup or bowl.

We had a black walnut tree when I was kid and we lived up in the montains. They were scattered everywhere, but there was one right off the front porch.

I used to love cracking those things and picking them. They're nice and moist. And love the flavor. Especially like em when they're in some poundcake or something like that
 
Looks like we got us a Bushcrafter in our midst. Nice work so far!! It's almost too bad that dark stripe didn't run the entire length and depth of the spoon.
 
I just like to make the things. Rather make 'em than buy 'em.
I used to belong to another forum where bushcrafting and prepping were two of the main topics of conversation. So I'm always interested in seeing handmade objects. Especially woodcrafting.
