And stockholders, via the initial capital provided by the stock buy, as well as the increase in stock value caused by its desireablilty (which allows the company to sell its held stock at a higher value, and thus raise more capital).

Also, capitalism is 100% different from feudalism in that:

1) you get to be an owner by serving the people with a better product, not by birth and with no products to improve our standard of living

2) an owner is driven into bankruptcy the second competition indicates he no longer has the best products in the world

3) workers get the highest wages possible and are free to go where they are higher at any time.

All long term per capita economic growth is caused by innovation. All of it. All improvements in living standards are a function of creating more with less. Innovation makes us more productive, and productivity rises.
