Coons took "bearded Marxist" turn

Yes, people eat everyday. Including the days that your beloved New Deal paid farmers to plow under crops and bought animals to slaughter to keep them off the market so that prices could remain high. As for the "long run," the Great Depression lasted how long? And it did so because the government intervened. People would have been better off had the government stayed out of it all together.

"We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work... I say after eight years of this administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started... And an enormous debt to boot!" - Henry Morgenthau, Jr., Secretary of the Treasury

And HOW many human beings would have evaporated you fucking asshole??? As in DEATH you slimy little moron.

How many died because the government got involved?

None...

"In the Great Depression, Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal generated growth and reduced the unemployment rate from 25 percent in 1932 to less than 10 percent in 1937. However, the deficit hawks of that era persuaded President Roosevelt to reverse course prematurely and move toward budget balance. The result was a severe recession that caused the economy to contract sharply and sent the unemployment rate soaring."

No person went hungry when they couldn't afford to buy food because the government artificially kept prices high? I doubt it seriously.

I find it highly illuminating that Democrats will not campaign on their actual records. COONS has raised taxes 3 times after pledging not to. He is a reliable, reflexive liberal who will rubber stamp the Obama agenda. Why not run on that? He is Harry Reid's "Pet". Why not run on that? What are you Democrats afraid of? Run on your records! Be proud of being "progressives". Why so dishonest?

The aim of the AAA was to raise prices for commodities through artificial scarcity. The AAA used a system of "domestic allotments", setting total output of corn, cotton, dairy products, hogs, rice, tobacco, and wheat. The farmers themselves had a voice in the process of using government to benefit their incomes. The AAA paid land owners subsidies for leaving some of their land idle with funds provided by a new tax on food processing. The goal was to force up farm prices to the point of "parity", an index based on 1910–1914 prices. To meet 1933 goals, 10×10^6 acres (40,000 km2) of growing cotton was plowed up, bountiful crops were left to rot, and six million baby pigs were killed and discarded. The idea was the less produced, the higher the wholesale price and the higher income to the farmer. Farm incomes increased significantly in the first three years of the New Deal, as prices for commodities rose. Food prices remained well below 1929 levels.[27]

Unemployment jumped from 14.3% in 1937 to 19.0% in 1938.[15]

Oh my goodness. You mean farmers had a voice in using the government to rip off the rest of the population? Well if that just doesn't warm the heart of every democracy loving patriot I don't know what will. Sounds to me like the poor, starving consumers got shafted by their government when the market was trying to work in their favor by bringing prices down.
